ON THE SCRIPT:
The minute I opened it, that was it, boom, like, it was just such a page-turner, I couldn't put it down and I just so wanted to know what happened and, you know, quite aside from Lucy's part being a great little part, I just loved… I thought "Why hasn't anyone made this movie yet?" Because Marilyn Monroe is just to me the most fascinating person and she had the most interesting life and I feel like it's totally untapped. And this kind of take on it, you know, from Colin Clarke's perspective and the book he wrote and everything, I just think it's genius.
ON LUCY'S CHARACETER:
She's a wardrobe girl, she's lower middle class, she's a lot feistier, she's very confident and very quick and very smart. And she… yeah, Colin really meets his match in her. She's not easily fooled and unfortunately she gets her heart broken but she certainly does a good job of trying to get him to keep his distance from her and that is what he's going to do but yeah they… It's a great part.
ON MICHELLE WILLIAMS PLAYING MARILYN MONROE:
I was amazed how much I saw of Marilyn in her and how… I just, I'm amazed. I totally trusted… I trusted but until I'd really gone on set I was like "Wow, now I really get it. I really really get it". She's perfect for Marilyn. I really believe that.
ON WHAT AUDIENCES WILL ENJOY MOST ABOUT THE FILM
I think people will enjoy Eddie's and Michelle's performances, A. I think they'll really enjoy learning something about Marilyn that is this story is just so untold. And it was real. It was true, it really happened. And I think they will just really have audience's gripped. And it's just so... It's shot beautifully, it's been made so carefully and with so much thought and consideration and passion. And Michelle is giving it everything and Simon is giving it everything and so does Eddie. The whole crew, cast, everyone really cares about this film and it's gonna show.
