'Beauty and the Beast' prequel in the work... minus Emma Watson (for now)

[Version française]

Only Josh Gad (Le Fou) and Luke Evans (Gaston) are in for now. At first I thought it meant the movie was about them meeting and there would be no chance of Belle appearing but then I realized the article doesn't say a thing about the plot, so it's possible it'll happen with her in it. It's in early development so let's just keep our eyes open for that one.

Full report at Variety.

It's a show for Disney's streaming service. Maybe Emma can be convinced to do a cameo in one episode. But anything more (and most likely even that) is wishful thinking.

Unfortunately it's pretty unlikely.

It's unlikely but I think doing something like Disney+ would be good for her.

She seemed to enjoy the Batb stuff.

I think her starring in series would be great for her career, but you know it means commitment and I don't think it is what she wants.

I've mentioned it before but I still wonder why Emma changed agents back in 2016;
https://www.femalefirst.co.uk/movies/movie-news/emma-watson-changes-film-agency-representatives-1017981.html

She'd already signed on for BATB & The Circle while being repped by her previous agency and since then just LW.

Presumably she changed agencies to further here acting career, but clearly that hasn't happened.
So was there a point where she fell out of love(like?) with acting or is she simply not being offered parts she wants?

She wiwil get the desired roles only if she works more. She is not doing that.

Not sure why she changed agents but it was around the time LaLaLand got nominated and was a huge success (she was supposed to play Stone's character but wanted the reharsal in London IIRC). Miles Teller (who was supposed to played Ryan Gosling originally) changed agents too around the same time.

And yes it's pretty unlikely she'll do something like that for Disney+.

The question is what kind of roles she wants. Let's be honest, The circle was terrible, Regression wasn't great either. Colonia was good, in my opinion her best role after HP besides The perks of being wallflower, but it was basicly unnoticed by audience and many critics. Her role in LW was suprisingly very good, better than I expected, but it wasn't big and happend only because Emma Stone wasn't available. Plus her lack of involvement in promotion also might create doubts in minds of people, who cast people in new projects.

We didn't get even an original tweet (3 retweeted) or an IG post on Women's Day
There is a short clip with TLW cast: 3 sisters + Marmee. No Emma though...

Happy International Womens day or as Emma calls it Retweet Day!
