Richard Avedon was a very influential American fashion photographer. He would have turned 100 on May 15 and to celebrate him and his work, The Richard Avedon Foundation set up an exhibition at the Gagosian Art Gallery in New York where more than 150 public figures, including Emma, picked a photo from his portfolio "that they believe explains, in its own way, the enduring influence and genius of the celebrated photographer", according to Derek Blasberg, one of Emma's good friend who also worked on the exhibition. Emma picked one of his shot of Donyale Luna. According to Ocula, "Emma Watson's pick, a 1965 portrait of Donyale Luna, the first Black model to illustrate Vogue's cover, pays tribute to Avedon's indiscriminate eye—the image generated controversy at the time, leading to the artist's resignation from Harper's Bazaar."
The shots will also be part of a book that will be released on September 5, 2023. In the book, Emma says "Avedon was a pioneer of allyship for diversity in the fashion world. We see it many times, including with his insistence that fashion magazines use images of women of color, like the time he threatened to quit working for Harper’s Bazaar if the publication didn’t run a now-iconic 1958 portrait of China Machado ashing a cigarette."

We don’t know that. They could decide to do different versions. Or it could flop and in 5 years time they go back to older cast. She could do the stage version…
None of the above are massive leaps. Weird things happen in Hollywood. Much much weirder things.
You know that how? They could easily scrap it and revert if it fails. Or have a film version and tv version (ie the Flash!)
The only way Emma would/could play Hermione again is in the epilogue episode(s). I’d love for Dan, Emma, Rupert, Tom, and Bonnie to come back for the final episode(s). It would be like a little bit of an Easter egg or a throwback to the OGs. Other than that, there’s no reason for Emma to play Hermione again since most of what they’re making is about their Hogwarts years.
I don't think she was ever going to get involved in any franchise again. Studios keep an even tighter grip on those than on standalone movies, so if she hates the lack of control she normally has I don't see her going back to something even worse.
O think it is fine that she will not play a role in the series. Young people will most likely want to see stars of their generation that speak to their interests. Emma, Rupert, and Daniel are in their 30`s and have moved on. I also do not think it would do their careers any good if they played in the series. I take that back- only if the series is based on different stories within the novel. But no, I do not see it, unless she plays a parent role in The Cursed Child, but I remember reading somewhere, that Rowling said that The Cursed Child was written for the theatre and that the story is not intended as a film.

I agree, it is better that she completely moves on from HP. I kind of hope she does Queen of Tearling, but Heyman has the rights. After she finishes her degree, she will be well on her way to really fill her desires, for then she will have the proper tools.
I have no interest in the series, and I will not watch it. The original movies with Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe are the best for me. I will enjoy them many years from now. Other than the new Batman with Robert Pattinson, the reboots- in my opinion are a yawn. I take to guess that I think that because one knows the ground story. I am looking forward to read what Emma writes and produces and even directs. She has so many good qualities; it was a joy to watch her grow up in the Hermoine role. She did not turn to drugs or delve into other questionable behavior. Yes, she is a role model for young women. Actors in our world have very questionable doings, which makes them unattractive. Sometimes it seems to me that they are unable to separate fiction from real life. Emma is going her own way and keeping her character. Admirable!
I am not sure why people are keen to see Emma writing and directing if she is not in the movies then we won’t see her.

There's no particular reason she couldn't star in her own movies, plenty of directors do it.
I wanted to say the same thing about her starring in her own films. Mel Gibson did it. I think a pre-sequel like The Hunger Games would be great. I always wondered about the Gaunt family, Voldemort's ancestors from his mother's side. The books have a lot of characters to flesh out. I remember Mad Eye Moody mentioning a great wizard by the name of Granger after he met Hermoine and detected her range as an upcoming wizard. I remember that my brain ticked. I thought a lot would come in connection to Hermoine and her ancestry. Maybe that was a lost thread of the story or a Nixe out of dark waters to have the reader wondering. I wish J.K. Rowling luck in her endeavors; I have read the Strike series. It is well written and entertaining, but HP is to date her best.

Queen of the Tearling was Warner Bros and was put on an indefinite hold following the failure of Jupiter assending. WB have lost a huge amount of money on original fantasy and they aren’t going to back it no matter who is in it. Also it’s even more unlikely as the books went downhill after the first (really good) one.
Queen of the Tearling was WB who then lost a tonne of money on fantasy right after it was announced. As budget is even worse now it’s not going to get made. Hardly anything with the expensive budget it would need gets made now unless it’s superhero IP
Emma's team haven't made statements about her dating life in years and years maybe mack knight break up was the last? (Eden do you know when they stopped confirming breakups?) in any case I doubt they will ever address this and neither will Emma.

Emma set up of two production companies, that will have taken millions as well...but owning those companies would still count as an asset and actually add to her overall net worth too?

I wonder if Emma understands what acting means, for to be a good actress you have to be able to step out of your comfort zone: see the character you are going to play with their intelligence and emotional side, and the social arena. Saying that she feels caged because she is unable to help decide, puts me on edge, and makes me come to the conclusion that she does not understand what it means to be an actress. You have to be humble enough to let yourself be guided in a role. Anyway, I am looking forward to watching and read anything she may produce and write. But I just wanted to express my feelings about Emma's attitude.
100% agree with the previous poster. Acting is becoming another person entirely…just because you are unable to stand for the characters beliefs or morals and you have to justify why you did the role to others is not what acting should be. Most actors who do really well embrace the differences between the character and themselves. This is what makes them great - stepping out of their comfort zone.
Regardless, I always thought she would go into writing and would do better on the producer/writer front given her education/background. I’ll probably read a memoir/book of hers more than care to watch a film that is done because she “fits” the same character she has always done
Reading both posts makes me think of Meryl Streep in Osage County, where she plays a dying, insane, vicious wife and mother and she nailed the role. She almost got an Oscar but- I think was beat out by Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmin. Both of these characters are mentally ill and nasty women, but both actresses captured the character, personality, and insanity of their character. Both are mothers of four and five children and married to one man. Admirable. I would conclude that they have their act together.I also have to think of Charlize Theron in Monster where she played this man killer. She was so barbaric and disturbed I only realized half way through the film who the actress was.I said 'Charlize, she is great, scary...'. I am sure that all three of these women are not of such character but they understood who their character was and delivered with bravour and stylistic beauty.
I am not sure Emma is capable of reaching this range in acting. Hermoine was well-acted, but she did very little to develop her skill. If she had been really serious about acting she would have taken more courses in acting.
I hope she writes a novel.
