I've never understood why they change the name of films when translating to other languages. What's wrong with just calling it Young Mothers? They had to add bits on, now it's The Young Mother's home (with the apostrophe in the wrong place).

Ah,the movie was good I take it.
Must have been to elicit an eleven minute standing ovation after the premiere.
Though I have to say that films at cannes are over represented in a sense that each premiere ends with atleast a 5 minute standing ovation so this one isn't a standout in that regard.
But anywho,emma loves(actually in awe of) the film and poor hassan looks completely clueless in the video.

It’s funny how people thought that there was something romantic going on because Emma and Hassan hugged. Meanwhile girly has been a hugger for as long as she’s been in the industry.
It looks like the title was originally La maison maternelle. It may have just been translated from that and mangled in the press.
There is a full version of the applause on Cannes Youtube channel, you can spot Emma a few times during all the celebration. She's hugging another actress as well.

My boss is leaving the company after so many years, and he gave us all heartfelt hugs and told us he will miss working with such a great team. Mentally i thought, “great! Emma Watson fans will think we’re dating! And i divorced my hubby!”
Anyway, she looks fantastic! Emma always does! I’m happy she got to attend Cannes this year.

Like I said before, it's most likely Emma is there to allow Hassan to make contacts, since he wouldn't be able to get that kind of access on his own. Cannes is more about distributors for mostly done projects than producers for in development projects, so it's unlikely she was there for something of her own.

Firstly, Hassan has a bafta so that’s not true. Secondly, please go to the previous thread and see all the comments where say about what happens at Cannes and how it’s very much about in development projects. In fact there’s even lists and previews of in development works

Like several people have said, that view of Cannes is wrong, it’s sooooo much more than selling movies. It’s one of the if not the main industry networking event of the year.
Hassan is a very well connected guy so that makes very little sense. She’ll have things herself there too, she likely has scripts given her masters and we know from her company accounts that she owns the production rights to at least one project. Cannes is the place to for that.

He said an equivalent of “please god” after so it was a wish from him. Also you’ll see on his agents site he has several things in development, please don’t rely on IMDb
IMDB is the only good source for upcoming projects, it's updated with sources from the industry not some random site

In development does not mean in production. You can't have previews of something in development, quite often it doesn't even have a script yet.

The way some of you are way to comfortable making “jokes” about Emma’s friends and relationships that we have no business talking about. Hassan is literally a BAFTA winner, possibly doing business at a world renowned film festival. Which for all we know, Emma could possibly have some kind of involvement with a future project of his. Which could potentially be really good thing for the both of them.So imagine my surprise when every time I open the comment section I see y’all disrespecting BOTH of their separate relationships and 8 year friendship. Just because you cant believe that men and women can be just friends. And because Emma has finally managed to keep a relationship out of the spotlight for a good chunk of time (something that if you’ve paid attention to what she says, is something she’s wanted to do for a long time). I’ve genuinely never understood why are y’all act like girly likes having her relationships be a topic of discussion in the first place.

In the Cannes Programmes and networking drop down tags on the site they are called “works in progress showcases” and the idea is for look books etc yes. It’s to get in development projects in front of investors

It means “reveal” here, like you’ll tell them about it/show them your ideas. But as others have mentioned in the previous threads Cannes also has loads of workshops, panels, investor meets and discussions, marketing and pitching masterclasses, like it’s absolutely infinitely more than just screening and buying made projects. and one of the big things is also access to Cineado.
