Hey guys, I was reading the Feltson controversies last night (I know, I know, sorry 🙈) but I wondered what you think actually went down between Emma and Tom? They deny anything ‘ever ever ever’ happening romantically between them, but there was definitely a massive rift formed when Tom got serious with Jade and he basically removed her from his life. As soon as they split she’s back on the scene, and there was definitely some kind of major closeness going on in 2017/2018 - I know he was going through a lot and she was there for him, they lived close by in Cali etc, but there was so much interaction. Emma never posted about anything not work related but she was liking and commenting on Tom’s posts and making posts of her own to support his work; admittedly she used the word ‘friends’ each time but it seemed like they were happy to be shown in the limelight together. Together together, or just friends?
Also, Tom said at a convention that they were ‘slightly childhood sweethearts’ - if there was nothing between them except an early crush from Emma and a badly timed later crush from Tom; how does that count as childhood sweethearts? He also said in an interview about kissing ‘no. Or rather no comment’

Anytime Emma has mentioned anything about the crush she uses PAST tense. And denied wanting to kiss him at 21, while simultaneously reminding people that he has a girlfriend who was also currently present (Emma wasn’t single at this time either).
In Tom’s book forward written by Emma she says nothing has ever happened between them, not even a kiss.
In the same book Tom says he’s never been in love with her but he does care about her.
Tom says he was struggling while lived in LA, and Emma was a good friend that helped him through some stuff
They are both currently in separate relationships. With Tom even being rumored to be married.
Tom knows most of his fan base is from HP and shippers so he caters to them, Emma does not. Hence her referencing towards their friendship anytime she talks/post about something that has to do with him.

The tone issues with hp is just what happens with an author is insecure about not having enough depth in their children's story lore so try to force in some heavy issues in what is mainly a story of magic and whimsy and fails to research it thoroughly or treat it delicately enough.

See her role as Meg, I think, she tried to promote the tradwife lifestyle but with a feminist veil. I am a conservative myself socially, and I find it very weird that Emma is lumped into the progressive space even though she is very conservative.

In acting terms I'm pretty sure Arabella can surpass Emma, but beyond that it's tricky. Emma, Daniel and Rupert are iconic.
The success of this series will be, optimistically, similar to Stranger Things, which, while it has many fans and fame, is not overwhelming or phenomenal.
I just don’t see how a new actress can play Hermione and the first film trio without being constantly judged. Emma Watson made every line iconic. How can anyone say “It’s levio-sa, not levio-saaar” without sounding like a copy? Back then, people didn’t know the full story; they were discovering it as the books came out. Now, everyone already knows what happens. And this remake will take 10 years? That’s a huge ask. People might start it and drop off. It’s not something you can just binge on the weekend. I honestly pray for these kids. And with AI now? Oh my god, such a dangerous thing.

I don’t want to be disrespectful, but isn‘t there a more meaningful way to spend you precious life time than to spend so much time thinking about what might have been between two people you don’t even know in person two decades ago? The reason for my concern is that I was at a similar place in the past…I wasted so much time thinking about the personal lifes of so called VIPs instead of focussing on the personal life of the person who should be nr 1 VIP in my life: myself. So I really hope you can move on too…like Emma and Tom clearly have - whatever happend or didn’t happen…Wishing you and everyone reading this all the best!
While I do feel bad for any hate these kids might face. Who I don’t feel bad for are these kids parents. There isn’t an excuse that they can use to justify letting their kids be a part of this obvious cash grab that literally nobody asked for . As far as I can tell none of them have a solid enough resume to assume that they know how to deal with the pressure that going to put in their shoulders. I’m Part 1 there was a quote from David Yates (that will be paraphrased)…when they were filming Dobby’s death scene, everybody was miserable especially Emma. And then she out of nowhere just runs/jumps for photo. Something about that made him realize just how much pressure it was to be one of the leads of a multi billion production at 19. And HBO doesn’t have the most solid track record when it comes to remakes or spin offs in the first place. Coupled with Rowling’s inability to shut up about discriminated minorities… It’s not going to be easy for these kids… Which is why I hope this gets cancelled after the first or second season
I will say it’s funny how anytime after the reboot was announced and one of the cast members reveals what they talk about… it’s never the reboot. With some cast members (for example. Dan) even rejecting the idea of being involved. It genuinely gives me the feeling like they honestly don’t give a fuck about this reboot. Naturally there are some exceptions like Tom,Phelps twins, Afshan, Emma’s stunt double for the first 2 or 3…and maybe Evanna. But the rest have moved on and don’t really care to be associated with Rowling anymore, which is why they seem to not even acknowledge the reboot.
