I’m from the U.S., and yeah things are a mess here too when it comes to trans rights. But what’s happening in the UK right now? It’s honestly disgusting. As painful as it is, I think moments like this really show who actually supports trans people and who was just doing it for attention or cookie points. If people go along with this new bill, it says a lot.
At the end of the day, trans women are women. No law can change that. It hurts to see years of progress being rolled back like this, but I really believe that with strong community and support from the people around them, trans folks will keep living their truth no matter what the government says.
And for anyone in the UK please, when the time comes, vote for people who actually represent your values. This time, the wrong side won. But it doesn’t always have to be like this.

Fascism is the tag being applied to Trump (and others following in his path) and I would have thought those people are clearly the target of the post.

It could be argued the last 10 years of rising fascism in the west saw trans people be used as an easy wedge issue to normalize all kinds of rollbacks on peoples rights and allowed even further extremism to grow and fester uncontested in public discourse.
Once you allow one minority to be sacrificed it is not the end, its only the start these people have a long list and believe me sooner or later everyone is on there
