Eden, what do you think about the new harrypotter series? My honest thought is they're trying to replace all the old actors (might especially her). But what do you think?

Anonymous said...

I love that Emma is so pretty and looking healthy, in that photo.

Eden said...

I don't think they mean to replace the actors. I think they just want to make money.

Anonymous said...

I wonder where this photo was taken from. The landscape looks wonderful - Ricky

it look like red nose day parody tbh especially nick frost as hagrid it just look hilarious miscast

A TV show series just doesn’t have the same impact as a movie, no matter what people saya movie series feels more universal. Trying to replace the original cast, especially in a franchise that’s already so divided, is risky. Many fans are attached to their nostalgia and won’t be happy, especially when legendary actors like Alan Rickman, a true monument of cinema, were part of the originals. Honestly, it feels impossible, and I think it’ll fail, especially with the season dropping two years later due to post-production and actor schedules.

I don’t like the man that much but I will say I agree with him when he says that she’s a queen.
And it’s a pretty good picture!
I saw somewhere where people were arguing if it was a new picture or not I just think it’s an older picture and he’s advertising his photography skills.

Ahhh the show..
I wish they would come up with something else because the Harry Potter universe is so big they could’ve continued on with something else instead of just doing a remake.
I feel like a remake is way too soon!
I would’ve loved if they’ve dug further into the marauders or Hogwarts life when Harry’s parents were there.
But just wait until one of the new actors decides to disagree with something the author doesn’t agree with, and then she shuts them out too. Oh boy!!

Anonymous said...

The Harry Potter fandom is truly absurd. They hate Hermione stole the spotlight from the boys in the movies, so they blame Emma and the writers. They’re satisfied with the TV series’ girl because she better fits the book's description, and since she's not as pretty as Emma, she won't steal the spotlight.

I am not Eden, but I am looking forward to the series - at least at the beginning. I thought the movies with the trio were wonderful, and I think the series can also be excellent if the creators stay faithful to the source material. That is why people want to see the films, because J.K. Rowling created a wonderful world with much more potential. I think they should remain close to the descriptions in the books because these presentations of a character, in terms of appearance and character, fit what is written in the book. Every description in her books is a step into the widening of the plot. I have decided that if the movies begin to get into woke themes - whatever they may be - I will not continue watching. I am interested in seeing the author's piece of literature stay true to the material. I agree that the first movies are great, but a new generation is coming along. Young people want to see their generation. In my day, I could care less about Spencer Tracey or a Marlon Brando or even a Brad Pitt.

Photo looks like it’s from the group bday trip to Rwanda a few years ago to see the gorillas.

“They” being a tiny amount of people… Emma is beloved by the vast majority of HP fans. The goodwill towards her is generally off the scale.

Anonymous said...

As always, Emma looks just wonderful in this photo. I love her with every fiber of my heart.

Anonymous said...

I think I feel like the majority of fans towards the new series, in that I’m not hostile to it, but I feel very underwhelmed at numerous aspects of it and am therefore pretty indifferent.
I’m sure the tv show will do alright, it’s following a very set format. It’s not like a film where they need to make lots of creative decisions and need a good box office. They’d have to mess it up catastrophically.
But decent won’t be enough to me. I’ll stick with the films.
The best of luck to the kids though, I very much hope that they come through it all ok.

Anonymous said...

I certainly don’t think WB are looking to replace the actors or the films at all, they still want to make money from them. JK likely does, but I think WB have just run out of original ideas and want some content for their streaming service. They also learned the wrong lesson from the failure of beasts. Beasts failed because it was bad and JK can’t write scripts - Not because people only care about the original characters and story. People just want good shows and films and they appreciate original stuff more if anything. But WB are being cowardly.

Anonymous said...

The adult cast for one is massively massively underwhelming. Also I thought they did a really good job cutting superfluous things from the books to get the movies. No casual fan is about to watch 10 hours to get what is mostly filler so any idea that they’d replace the movies is madness. At Christmas people will stick to the movies. And to me the filler certainly isn’t worth the absolute millions that they’ll have to spend each episode. They should spend the money on creating something something new. At least the “new” Spider-Man is a re-imagining. This isn’t needed. But as above I wish the children super well!

Anonymous said...

They are using the same sets and costumes. Like why bother?? And Nick Frost, god bless him, is no Robbie Coltrane. But anyho Em looks terrific in the pic!!!

Anonymous said...

Photo with significant cleavage and presumably referring to her as a Queen.
All that's missing is his Jay Shetty voodoo doll.

Anonymous said...

He was posting loads of photo portraits he’s taken of people. I know you’re joking, but some people will take this out of context.

That One Guy said...

Not sure what there is to dislike about Hassan. He seems to just be her friend? At worst, an entourage hanger-on. There are way worse parasites that glom onto celebirties.

Anyway the new HP series look horrible and will fail within a few years. It's a cheap streaming production, absolutely won't stay on schedule, and will damage those kids' lives and careers badly. WB is a failing studio being bounced from owner to owner, and this is a cash grab to juice their value for Paramount, not the labor of love David Heyman's original production was.

For Joy Killer Robot, it's absolutely about replacing the original trio. I don;'t know how much influence she has on the production, but that is her primary motivation.

If you do watch this series, you gotta at least admit to yourself that it's cool with you if Rowling uses the money you give her to hurt trans people.

Anonymous said...

It’s an old pic by someone who has the hots for our emma!!!

Anonymous said...

why is the colour grading and lighting of the new show dark and grey and washed out compare it to one scene from the first few hp movies and its night and day

dunno how badly film cameras and cinematography look today, the overly digital feel so lifeless so bland

where is the warmth of the picture and the whimsical vibe...i hate modern film making all looks like this seem boring empty joyless style

Anonymous said...

Yeah thats fair...even just look at Edens bored Hermione picture on the side of the blog and look how warm the colour grading is on the picture. People can't shoot anything nicely any more and if they do post-production seems like it destroys it.

Anonymous said...

Hassan pic of emma actually has better color than the show and make her skin look amazing very nice tone, a guy with phone camera doing better job than hollywood now LOL

That One Guy said...

That photo looks excellent. Her freckles. The pose. The halo of light around her.

You may just be depressed, dude...

Anonymous said...

what? im talking about the hp show terrible style

Anonymous said...

She looks so beautiful in that picture.

The new Harry Potter series feels a bit rushed. It feels very similar to the original films, with only small changes and some added scenes from the books, as there doesn’t seem to be a clear reason for it to be remade. The original movies are still widely rewatched, and this seems aimed at attracting a new audience and boosting revenue from parks and merchandise, especially as JK has lost part of her audience. It will likely get strong views at release, but it will be interesting to see if people rewatch it or return to the films.

Anonymous said...

I expect a decent start but I’d give it 3 seasons, 4 max.
I also think people will always watch the films regardless. A two hour film is infinity more watchable and accessible than a 8 or 10 hour series.

Anonymous said...

Eden. I hope I did not suddenly start a trend in your comment section, because of complaining about Jay Shetty his business scheme and using celebrities for it and even smart people falling for such an actual ethical monetary incompetence that he, not them, subliminally tries to sell as guidelines as well? It's not only one celebrity being prone to be used for that for being too good-hearted, so. Cults, even new ones to arise, always work like that and they are basically about paying the upkeep of the supreme leader.

Anonymous said...

Why are you putting this here when there was already a discussion on this in another thread. Just wholly unnecessary.

Anonymous said...

Yeah you pretend to apologize but are clearly just attention seeking by putting stuff in two threads!

Anonymous said...

And, Eden, my dear, I am not being paid for guidance with anyone. I'm being paid for plain honest opinion that anyone does not want to hear at all, not even 'supreme leaders' who‘d appreciated it to be kings instead. It's not just one celebrity at all, also with this Jay Shetty business scheme and who were ought to be smarter than that if they really insist on ethics. Money makes the world go round. Unfortunately.

Anonymous said...

If you don’t like him that’s fine. You don’t need to keep posting about it everywhere. As above it’s annoying to others.

Anonymous said...

Please be quiet.

Anonymous said...

Euphoria's a good example to look at. It's last season started at 19 million viewers and ended with 6 million (this is streaming so these aren't unique views). I suspect the same will happen with HP. People will tune in for the first couple of episodes out of sheer curiosity and then move on. Warner Bros will only mention the first part.

Anonymous said...

think you clicked the wrong thread rambling person

Anonymous said...

Guy. Or girl. I just did not want to spark a controversy on this blog that haters of this blog, and of Emma Watson, covertly use to spread hate against her and that nobody must and should fall for either.

Anonymous said...

So far there’s been a 2-minute trailer and a behind the scenes video. It’s rather premature to make any real claims about what the series is, or isn’t, going to looK like, feel like etc.
Personally Game of thrones proved that fantasy series belong on TV, not movies, as it allows room to breathe, you don’t have to condense or cut anywhere near as much and the world can be explored (obviously a Song of Ice & Fire is a lot more detailed & elaborate a world than Harry Potter, but the point still stands).

Anonymous said...

Why would a studio be ‘trying to replace the old actors’? That’s ridiculous. That’s only fannish petty nonsense.
They’re trying to make money, and really a lot of fans have been calling out for years for a TV series that could allow more of the books to be filmed and shown on screen.
Lots of people won’t watch it because of Rowling, or because of a weird sense of loyalty to the movies, ur realistically lots will. The Rowling factor isn’t a factor at all in some of the hugest markets like China and India

Anonymous said...

As a disclaimer, please don’t actually bother the poor man…

Now don’t get wrong this really pretty picture of Emma… But how do convince Hassan to drop pictures of the peoples babygirl (Sofia)? Because I’m pretty sure he has at least one.

That One Guy said...

Dude, that's me being a dick with no reading comprehension. You are correct. The show looks like ass. My bad.

Anonymous said...

Well the OC won't appear in any HP again so yes you could say that. The show will also do all the books. Only have to look at the behind the scenes they are in it for the long haul. Then at some point the new trio and cast will do movies or further book adaptations. But people thinking this will run for 3 or so seasons are crazy. Just look at the views for the trailer and behind the scenes. This is going to be the biggest show in the world for years.

Anonymous said...

Yes.We need some more Sofia content. She’s too adorable - Ricky

Anonymous said...

For now, there isn’t any real material from the new series to say that the people who watched the trailer and the behind the scenes are its own audience. That audience belongs to the books and the films, and they’re just curious to see what this new show is.

Its actual audience will become clear after the 3-4 season and over time. The idea of doing this for 10 years, and then continuing for another 10 with more stories, starts to feel a bit repetitive. It makes you wonder if they will ever invest in new stories, or if we’ll just keep watching the same thing again and again… which is a shame.

Anonymous said...

Marketing companies pay to put their trailers in people's feeds. I wouldn't take trailer views to mean much.

Anonymous said...

As well as numerous pictures, and it’s more than enough for me to make quality judgements. As others have said I wish and hope the best for the kids but it lots garbage compared to the movies.

Anonymous said...

Then why on earth do you keep banging on about it?

Anonymous said...

I think the person saying this will be biggest show in the world for years is completely deluded. And then to say that the new cast will go beyond that and make movies etc is then absolutely beyond unhinged. They’ll incredibly lucky if this cast even finish this series as it’ll take so long (and that’s if it gets to end). Pigs will fly and hell will freeze over before they then go on to make films. They’ll be beyond sick of it and want lives.
Mark my words. It will launch with a big bang and then die after a few seasons. Save this comment.

Anonymous said...

In the UK and Ireland - WB are giving HBO max for free with lots of subscriptions to try and get its audience numbers up on launch. When or if people have to start paying for it, how many keep it will be interesting. The behind the scenes and trailer come up at the top of the homepage and are huge. I watched it out of curiosity and then accidentally clicked on it several times. I’d imagine loads of others did as well. I have no intention of watching the actual series. Though I’d imagine the first one will do well. It’ll go like rings of power viewers wise after that I think, though with less outrage as this will just be a painting by numbers adaption with no risks. So boring.

Anonymous said...

Yeah and Game of Thrones despite being terrific quality at the start fell on its ass at the end. The showrunners got sick of it as did the cast and wanted to do other things.
GoT also lasted that long and got such an audience as it gradually built momentum through quality and terrific word of mouth between seasons. It went from relatively known books to massive as it hadn’t been adapted before so was totally fresh and there was no other fantasy or series like it on tv at that time. It was appointment viewing. Compare that to loads of the world has already seen Potter. Because of that It’ll likely start massive due to curiosity. But asking people to stick with something they’ve already seen for what will be 10 years is an enormous ask especially in a crowded market. It won’t do longer term.

Anonymous said...

The new series has failed to land any major star beyond John lithgow. That tells you a lot. They’d have tried everyone. Stars wanted to do the audio books through nostalgic love of Potter. But they were not prepared to do the show.

Anonymous said...

It's made to exclusively replace the trio in Merch sales and likeness deals we know jkr is fully hating on them and especially Emma at this stage and will never not be mad about them being against her and is this petty.

Anonymous said...

The HP movies are very good movies but poor adaptations of the books since Goblet of Fire also lots of people are excited about the tv show and some people here can't accept it because Arabella will be Hermione

Anonymous said...

Emma hasnt been Hermione longer than she was hermione at this stage and people still follow her so that is not an issue people just think its a lame rehash with worse quality production

Anonymous said...

Things get cut for good reason,
either it ruined the pacing or was simply bad,
more isnt always better.

Anonymous said...

hassan its over bro stop clinging to the past

Anonymous said...

been wondering what emma and the rest get paid every time those films get licensed to a new tv network/streaming service or have anew blu ray 4 re-release
do they get paid every time?
i bet JK wants a ne wthing to replace all those deals but thats only part of it the main thing is WB want a new cast
who can come back for years and years of legacy sequels
now the old actors dont want to be seen near the series or in case of older cast have passed away.

Anonymous said...

It’s WB who wanted to recreate it and most people realize it’s a cash grab

Anonymous said...

My view is nothing to do with Arabella. She’s a good little actor. I’ve been to the stage show and personally enjoy seeing other interpretations of Hermione. You can say the show will be a huge success here all you want to but the comments that you dismiss as out of jealousy will highly likely be proved right. I hope you’ll be alright then. Most HP fans are lukewarm to the idea of the tv series and treating it with mild curiosity at best. Loads are indifferent and casual fans won’t commit to 7 series. You’ll find the opinion here in the majority of places. nobody is saying it’ll fail immediately or that Arabella will be terrible, people aren’t being petty. They are giving balanced longterm views that the odds actually favour.

Anonymous said...

“Compare that to loads of the world has already seen Potter. Because of that It’ll likely start massive due to curiosity. But asking people to stick with something they’ve already seen for what will be 10 years is an enormous ask especially in a crowded market. It won’t do longer term.”

THIS ! they will launch it in a blaze of glory and it will die around GoF. Which is around when most franchises die. The Potter movies were an exception to the rule, and Beasts proved the rule again. It might limp on longer as it won’t have public box office numbers but new Paramount ownership won’t pour zillions into something without reward.

Anonymous said...

1000% - they did such a good job in the movies of cutting out dross and keeping pacing. And whilst I missed things like SPEW at the time, I’ve realized as I’ve gotten older that putting that stuff in isn’t with the time or money. Most fans aren’t book purists. If they want the books they’ll reread them. They want to sit down for a couple of hours and be entertained. WB should have used the money for new content.

Anonymous said...

Given that he lives with her I’d imagine they’re alright.

Anonymous said...

Most fans want good movies though rather than a play by play book rerun. They can just read the books if they want that.

Anonymous said...

Yes the comment on it just being about Arabella versus Emma is an insult to most people’s intelligence

Anonymous said...

We’re talking about the series, not Hermione or Arabella. Hermione hasn’t only been portrayed by Emma Watson, other actors have played her in theatre too. Emma last played Hermione 14 years ago; she’s moved on and probably prefers to keep it as a good memory.
And it’s unrealistic to think these new kids will be stuck with these roles forever. They’re only 11, they’ll grow, change, and have goals beyond Harry Potter.

Anonymous said...

Stuff like the camping in the books went on forever. It was terrible. They cut it right down in the films but the reviews still were that they didn’t cut it down enough !!!

Anonymous said...

I reread the books a couple of years ago and the SPEW stuff is just padding, it doesn't go anywhere. It's empty character building to make her seem more empathetic than the boys, but the story never uses that.

Anonymous said...

I think I also only missed S.P.E.W and perhaps Peeves. They shot peeves for the movies but apparently it looked ridiculous and didn’t fit the tone so they cut it. It’s on some DVD extras

Anonymous said...

He lives in her London house, she mostly lives in Oxford.

Anonymous said...

It’s only about an hour drive between the two in good traffic. I’d imagine she’s back and forth a lot.

Anonymous said...

Still lives with her whenever she’s in London. Which would still be a lot.

Anonymous said...

I had high hopes of launching a philosophical debate about ethical marketing and consumerism in our postmodern capitalist society, but maybe the stakes were too high.

Anonymous said...

"Most HP fans are lukewarm to the idea of the tv series and treating it with mild curiosity at best" oh yeah that's why the trailer had 277M views in 48 hours LOL you can hate the series all you want but even the behind the scenes documentary is a huge success in HBO and i'm a fan of HP since 2001, i have all the books and movies so don't speak about what i feel about the series or what the fandom will do in a few years. Haters gonna hate

Anonymous said...

"I think the person saying this will be biggest show in the world for years is completely deluded"

What else on this scope is coming down the tracks? I mean I hope something will. The books have so much more to give and once you get to POA that is when things really deviate from the movies. Also in terms of stars and star power. This isn't the early 2000's. The casting of the original movies in terms of the adult actors will never be matched. It's a big commitment so it's understandable that many would have passed on it. Besides as the series goes on it can bag bigger stars for one or two series roles. But the star is the story and if anything it gets newer generation reading once more.

"Mark my words. It will launch with a big bang and then die after a few seasons. Save this comment."

It'll be more expensive to cancel this thing trust me. The amount of merchandise alone is going to fund this. I mean if you saw the behind the scenes things like the rat that bites you is going to sell by the bucket load. HP prints money.

Anonymous said...

even the movies forgot more isnt better cutting the last book into two movies just get as much tedious stuff from deathly hallows on screen as possible and its why part 1 is so boring just all the cam, ping sitting around stuff its not good when the series isnt actually at the Hogwarts school imo

Anonymous said...

People bashed peter Jackson for years for cutting singing and tom bombadill from his Lord of the Rings

but honestly the darker tone he went with would have been ruined if this funny singing guy in crazy clothes showed up suddenly

it even feels strange in the book but at least there it kinda fits with the whimsical tone of the early part of the first book

Anonymous said...

thats nothing tbh new spiderman movie trailer hit 1 billion views in one day and is the most watched trailer of anything ever made superhero stuff will still be bigger

I just have absolutely no idea how blogger.com on an iPhone works nowadays, because a few years before you had a clear timeline or structure with everything that you could respond to, they reorganized this thread structure on iPhones and these days you also just lose completely oversight. I actually do not even know if it's really the right comment of mine I respond to. There was a time where you could comment every new comment or response to your own comment and they just made it so complicated.

Anonymous said...

"superhero stuff will still be bigger" the genre is dying even mcu are in trouble resorting to bringing back rdj and chris evans etc

Anonymous said...

You shouldn't pay much attention to those numbers for trailers these days they count people who viewed clips on twitter for 1sec while scrolling as a 'view' and other sites as well
and so many bots and AI things are used to boost viewership and streaming numbers on videos and songs and everything, its more likely half the views are fake ngl and the real number is 500m views

Anonymous said...

I have HBO max and it’s the top thing on a huge banner and after watching it once because I was curious it then opened numerous times unintentionally. I’d say at least about 5. I don’t have any axe to grind but after watching it I was very disappointed with it.
Nobody is talking about how you feel. You are simply in the minority of the fandom and are therefore throwing out petulant comments. Very few people here will be haters, the comments that I see from others above are considered and pretty rational for a blog. No offense Eden.

Anonymous said...

To be fair they made the movies whilst she was still writing it and had left bits out so needed some time to tue things together at the end, but also it was a clear cash grab by WB and even the cast were pretty cynical towards it. It could have been done in one, and I wouldn’t have missed a lot of the first film.

Anonymous said...

It’s not hating. It’s the legitimate opinion of loads and loads of people no matter how much you don’t like it. Nobody here is calling you a Stan. Everybody is just disagreeing with you.

Anonymous said...

Then you went about it wrong. Most people here are willing to engage in interesting discussion, but not when someone rambles across multiple threads. It’s not about stakes, you just annoy people.

Anonymous said...

No we don’t trust you that it’d be cheaper to cancel it. That lacks basic economics. People won’t buy the merch if they don’t like the series. WB will likely do the same on this as they did after 3 Fantastic Beasts. Cut their losses and write it off as tax.
Children are having their parents read the books to them. The world doesn’t need millions on a series for that. This is a huge waste of money.

Anonymous said...

I would caveat that that it was only a small section of the LoTR fanbase that did that. Most loved the three films, especially when compared to the hobbit which were ridiculously bloated. There was almost of bilbo losing his keys. The hobbit being 3 films was a complete and utter joke.

Anonymous said...

People will go see Spider-Man as well, it will be 2 hours of their lives and not whatever this will be.

Anonymous said...

People are sayin 3 or 4 s. I think it will squeak to 5. Wil be interested in audience drop between s 1& 2 and particularly between 2 & 3. The later one will be telling! Rings of Power had massive drop towards end s2. It will get 3rd but I doubt Amazon will carry on much more even with Amazon $$$ which far eclipses Warners
PS beautiful pic of our Emma

Anonymous said...

Yes it is. I didn’t write the above but it would still be bigger. And Spider-Man will be massive

Anonymous said...

Rings Of Power is now considered a laughing stock and a flop and they are still making all 5 series. HP won't ever be a flop. FB would have been better as a TV series. Same people said Hogwarts Legacy was going to bomb. HP literally makes hundreds of millions per yer out of sales and theme parks. The interest is huge. You and others here will watch it like you played Hogwarts Legacy. You need to get over the hatred for JKR as she keeps winning either way.

Anonymous said...

Amazon have said it will have 5 series. HP is so much bigger because it's the books not a spin off compared to Rings. They will make all 7 series then onto films. The original trio will be a distant memory. Looking forward to it :D

You’re just being an idiot now I’m afraid. Amazon have far more money and Amazon’s first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power got 257 million views in 24 hours back in 2022 !!! It was a bigger launch than this HP one and had died a death.

Anonymous said...

A reminder to people that Amazon’s first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power got 257 million views in under 24 hours and that was back in 2022 when things got less views. So this launch is smaller, even with HBO max being given out for free in various countries. Look at the numbers for that series now.

Anonymous said...

Respectfully, you aren’t defending how you feel. You seem to be taking things very personally and are the one who is arguing with people. They aren’t celebrating a downfall of the series in anyway. They are being rationale and giving their views. Fair enough you are excited. But even if you take a pool of the comments here most are indifferent. You also insulted people by saying it was just because of Emma and were dismissive of others views when people have clearly told you it’s not that. I think you’re the one pretending you know better.

Anonymous said...

Dont forget Eden xD

Anonymous said...

Ah we’ve now got to the bottom of your unrealistic views of the series. You are a diehard JKR fan. I don’t hate her. I presume you are also the person below dismissing others views because you think our disinterest in the series is to do with Emma. I hope you’re ok in a few years when the new series fails and I won’t engage with you further as you’re clearly in your own world.

Anonymous said...

People don’t engage - it’s the JKR nut above. They won’t listen to reason. This will be the greatest show on earth for forever and ever and ever full stop, and no suggestion otherwise will be accepted you get called a hater.

It's the last comment, because this unorganized structure Blogger now has with iphones keeps stressing me out. I did not intend to burden Eden with loads of hate comments against her or Emma Watson with now Jay Shetty being a useful purpose for that and me having started a trend with it, you simply just do not get to see every hate comment she dismisses and that's also why she kept comment moderation. It's easier for your mental well-being also just by the subliminal action of dismissing in advance and a good training all the time also with other things in life than deleting all the mess afterwards and being even more bothered with all this loads of sh!t that used to end up on this blog. Preferably when it's night in France.

If it wasn’t… Chris Columbus wouldn’t have come out and blamed Terfling for the fact that the OG cast wouldn’t reunite on screen. And let’s not act like Warner Bros. hasn’t been scrambling to make different remakes and sequels of stories with pre established fanbases because they need the money. The thing is … the market is ALREADY over saturated with remakes, prequels, sequels and spin offs. People have been yelling on the internet for the past 4ish years that they want original stories not something that they already know the ending to. Another con for this series, is that it’s ACTIVELY funding that person’s tirade towards an already discriminated minority that literally makes up 1% of population. With a mix of people hating the casting of certain characters (racism), a overly saturated market of remakes, AND that person’s inability to STFU about a marginalized minority…l just don’t see them getting to Deathly Hallows tbh…

Side note… but with the way streaming providers are going downhill and people are getting more annoyed with them resulting in cancellations of subscriptions… Will HBO Max still be a thing in 10 years time?

You’re in the wrong place. We shared our opinion because you brought up the series here.
If you don’t like it, that’s fine. Just don’t reduce our view to childish reasons like “hating J. K. Rowling.”
If you want more people to agree with you, go to a new Harry Potter series page.
This is Emma page. She hasn’t played Hermione in years, same as Daniel, who honestly seems quite happy with the new series😆, maybe hoping to distance himself from Harry Potter a bit.
They’ve moved on, even if Harry Potter never fully lets go.

Anonymous said...

Friendly reminder that even transphobic edge lords including Elon Musk have tweeted at her to STFU about trans people for a day. She didn’t… but imagine being so overly transphobic that even other transphobes think you’re doing too much.

Anonymous said...

Yes there’s one Rowling loving nut here. They are clearly lost being on an Emma blog and would be much better using their energies elsewhere. For their own happiness and everyone else’s. They read as either detached from reality or just plain bitter atm.

Anonymous said...

"They aren’t celebrating a downfall of the series in anyway" you are lying and it's obvious reading the comments here, someone even says that i'm a "JKR nut" (i don't like her) because i'm not hating on the series. I won't reply again, you're biased af and it's a waste of time

Anonymous said...

The first trailer of Rings of Power got so many views because it debuted during the Super Bowl so no, it's not like HP at all

Anonymous said...

Please don’t, in fact like others please find a JKR blog to go on. People here arent hating on the series. People are being realistic and giving their views. If you can’t take it it’s on you.

Anonymous said...

You’re right it’s not like this HP series, it’s millions more views in half the time.

Anonymous said...

"Ah we’ve now got to the bottom of your unrealistic views of the series. You are a diehard JKR fan. I don’t hate her. "

Nice deflection you have there.

Anonymous said...

"Sure that’s the only reason we think it looks like crap"

Clearly you haven't seen the behind the scenes documentary.

But you and the haters will be tuning in during Christmas making the viewing figures even bigger :)

Anonymous said...

That One Guy is this another one of your Alts? LOL!

Anonymous said...

Why is a Rowling troll on an emma page? Maybe grow out of a franchise aimed at 10 year olds already

Anonymous said...

while i agree hp fans need to read a new book
this reboot nostalgia series is completely aimed at 35 year old plus not many children are subscribers or paying HBO lol
maybe some families will try to get their kids involved but mainly they think anything mom and dad are into is lame AF and will go back to kpop demon hunters or something
which is way bigger than the hp reboot already, or maybe Wednesday show thats what the new gen love not what millennials loved.

Anonymous said...

TikTok is what drives kids taste these days its scary how if it doesn't trend there it flops.

Btw Eden im curious do you have younger siblings or anything who are wtaching young people stuff, in france what franchise is trending amongst younger people there? just wondering xd

Anonymous said...

OMG if they do a Live Action Kpop demon hunters show soon it will be the biggest thing of the decade lmao

Eden said...

I don't have siblings. Young people are a mystery to me XD

Anonymous said...

Normally I’d be a lot kinder but this time I’ll just be honest. Seeing as Rowling’s fans keep popping up on a fan pages for somebody that some of them don’t even like.

Every day overtly obsessed Potter fans who are old enough to be the parents of the new cast prove Imelda Staunton comments about them right. Because why the hell are you this into a book series that was aimed at CHILDREN for their primary demographic? I’m genuinely begging on all fours for those people to read another fucking book. I’ll even pay for it. While I’m at it… why are Rowling fans so surprised that the fandoms that the OG cast have built throughout the years don’t really give a fuck about the remake? Especially when sending generic good luck PR statements (Dan,Rupert and Tom) is the furthest any of them have gone to acknowledge the remake in the first place. While others like Emma Thompson and Imelda Staunton (and others, however none as bluntly as those two) have deadass told y’all to stop asking them about Potter in general.

Anonymous said...

Bullying now? Classy.

Anonymous said...

Triggered Rowling hater mwah.

Anonymous said...

It was Miriam Margolyes who said that but I agree with you

Anonymous said...

Or that is just that persons valid opinion that they it looks like crap? Stop speaking for others who disagree with you.
I for one won’t be watching it but I understand why others would be initially curious which is why like lots here I think it’ll start big due to that curiosity and then suffer a massive drop off over several series. I would be shocked if the first series didn’t have big figures. The test will be the second and especially third. And calling people haters for that view is beyond childish. Others aren’t the ones deflecting. You are coming across very unhinged and obsessed with this and can’t seem to accept that most of us simply don’t care about it. There isn’t jealousy behind it. I have not and will never criticize the kids. But I don’t need to see the books onscreen again and view this as a desperate move by a studio that’s been going under for the last few years.
It’s beyond ironic that you’re accusing others here of speaking down to you, when you are literally the main person doing that.

Anonymous said...

"Because why the hell are you this into a book series that was aimed at CHILDREN for their primary demographic? I’m genuinely begging on all fours for those people to read another fucking book" Do you know that Star Wars and the MCU are aimed at children too? Or you are just a hater of HP to appear more "mature"? I've read many other books and i don't bully people because they like something.

Anonymous said...

Is there any way to block the JKR troll? Not out of censorship I just don’t understand trolls, they must be so unhappy to give their time to things they don’t like and to come online and just endlessly argue. Give energy, in a non Stan way, to stuff you like. Go on the new series forums as others have said. Unless they aren’t actually interested and all they want is to just antagonize people and try and look clever. And I can’t emphasize try and look in that sentence enough. It’d be funny if it wasn’t downright sad.

Anonymous said...

If you mean the same person No it’s not. Why would he bother doing that. There’s actually many of us and one of you. You just can’t accept that.

Anonymous said...

It’s thankfully just one Rowling nut in this instance. They are typing the same way each message.

Anonymous said...

Hope we see Emma at Coachella. I presume she’ll go if she’s still stateside and near her birthday. It’s generally about whether we get to see her, she sometimes successfully hides at these things.

Anonymous said...

Is there an eye roll emoji for the non entity that replied

Anonymous said...

No you can't accept the new series despite reservations is going to do gang busters whether you like it or not. Hopefully Emma could play Umbridge in the future.

Anonymous said...

“Ive read many other books and i don't bully people because they like something” no you still can’t accept other people’s views when everyone earlier in the comments has been far kinder and patient to you than most blogs are but you’ve increasingly confirmed yourself as an obsessed sap and everyone has had enough now

Anonymous said...

My bad, you’re right it was Miriam. And it seems like I managed to trigger the Rowling fan. However the statement still stands. Because it’s not bullying to point out the fact that the first three Potter books are children books while books four through seven are YA novels. It’s not my fault you decided to obsess over a book series targeted towards children and teenagers. Also what do Star Wars or the MCU have to do with Potter? Because you’re right about Star Wars being aimed at 12 year olds, however the MCU was always targeting a bigger demographic. Considering the fact their movies are rated anywhere from PG-13 to Rated R … they aren’t exactly going for a primarily child based audience. And to answer your question no, I don’t bully people based off what they like. However let’s not act like certain fans don’t make everything in their life revolve around whatever fandom they’re in to the point that others do bully them.

Anonymous said...

“No you can't accept the new series despite reservations is going to do gang busters whether you like it or not. Hopefully Emma could play Umbridge in the future.”

If you’re an adult you’re a joke and I feel bad for you.

Anonymous said...

"no you still can’t accept other people’s views when everyone earlier in the comments has been far kinder and patient to you than most blogs are but you’ve increasingly confirmed yourself as an obsessed sap and everyone has had enough now" Wow thank you for confirming that you're an internet bully. You are very "brave" being so mean without showing your name and face

Quote: No you can't accept the new series despite reservations is going to do gang busters whether you like it or not. Hopefully Emma could play Umbridge in the future.

Put the phone away you are high on something

^ How is that annon doing that? So negative on here. Harry Potter TV Show is a good idea more likely than not it will work.

Oh and I am a fan of Emma and Jo despite their differences. Which is none of our business!

Anonymous said...

^ Wow someone has an opinion different from yours and your answer is to get them blocked. How about you ignore them and move on like most normal adults do.

Anonymous said...

It’s the excessive posting and being condescending to everyone and not accepting anyone else’s views that’s the issue. Loads of people disagree here all the time and it’s not a problem in the slightest.

Anonymous said...

On how is anon doing that comment. I’m jumping in as an observer as I don’t think you have read the whole thread. Users have actually mostly just pointed out their issues with the series. Those views then got continually dismissed in a really immature manner. See the dismissal of views as jealousy towards Arabella and hoping the original trio are forgotten etc. they then started calling anyone not excited about the series HP and Rowling haters in the thread. Others have been patient.

Anonymous said...

Anon you are the one trying to force your views that this will be the best thing ever as the only right one. You will then piss people off. You surely understand that.

Anonymous said...

It would be terrific if they didn’t comment on nearly every post.

Anonymous said...

I stand by obsessed sap. You’re a JKR Stan repeatedly commenting in an Emma blog. Like why? Let it go.

Anonymous said...

Who’s bullying? Nobody is bullying anyone here. A few people have eventually got annoyed at the Jo fan harping on but to me the Jo fan started that and then just couldn’t take it back. If “babe read the room” is bullying we’ve entered another universe.

Anonymous said...

Let’s just not engage the JKR Stan then

Anonymous said...

I'm a JKR stan you say and i blocked her on twitter because i can't stand her transphobia. Try again, hater

Anonymous said...

Seriously, people are just sharing their opinions about the series. Because you don’t like them, you call it bullying and try to provoke with nonsense, like saying Emma Watson will play Dolores Umbridge or that the trio will be replaced.
You’re not acting like a fan of Emma. You’re putting her down and not respecting the work she did as Hermione or everything she has carried since.
So what are you doing here? Why not just have a normal discussion and accept people’s opinions without attacking Emma?

Anonymous said...

" the fandoms that the OG cast" all but disappeared. how many out of dozens of emma blogs are left? this is like the only one?

Anonymous said...

Hi I love Emma and Jo. Many people like both believe or not. But most don't care. They enjoy the wizarding world though.

Anonymous said...

Support the TV show must be a JKR stan. Mwah.

Anonymous said...

Sure that’s believable…

Anonymous said...

The other anon is a hater of what exactly? A reminder that most adults don’t only “love” or “hate” things, they have varying views. Some here just dont think the series will work longterm and many have outlined reasons for thinking that and they don’t involve jealousy or hating of anyone. They just have different views on a tv series to you. Please cope with that or move on…

Anonymous said...

Fingers crossed on Coachella pics. And if she’s seen with a guy it would at least start a better topic of conversation than the tv series. And I say that as someone who generally doesn’t like the love life chats!

Anonymous said...

Just a question do you think emma will announce a engagement on her birthday

Anonymous said...

Give your head a wobble you as others have said you seem obsessed

Anonymous said...

Sure thing like Emma’s 70million IG followers despite her not even being active. All the people lining up in NY to see Dan. Them making global headlines on pretty much sneezing.
People don’t run blogs anymore, it’s too much hassle. Ask Eden.
But I get that your comment isn’t about that. You know they have massive global fan bases and are instead deliberately being an idiot to antagonize everyone, and trying to put the trio down. then you accuse others of bullying you.

Anonymous said...

“" the fandoms that the OG cast" all but disappeared.””
Wow - that reeks of desperation. Go outside and get some air.

Anonymous said...

Obvious troll

Anonymous said...

"others"

Anonymous said...

Yes others. Read the comments section. You are annoying lots of users. Which seems to be your goal

Anonymous said...

I’m genuinely convinced Rowling’s fans think more about the OG cast than the cast or even Rowling herself have thought about each other in the past decade. And then they get upset by the fact that fans of the OG cast don’t give a single fuck about Rowling or the remake. Because if the OG cast had as little relevance as her fans claim they do… Why the hell are Rowling fans under every other post or blog about the OG cast? More importantly why are they hell bent on diminishing the work and achievements of the OG cast both in and outside of Potter instead of hyping up the new cast? Maybe it’s because my frontal lobe has fully developed… But I just don’t understand spending time commenting on a blog dedicated to a person you don’t even like. Like I’m sorry but that just reeks of loser behavior to me.

Anonymous said...

Never said the trio will be replaced that was someone else. Emma playing Umbridge would be a good call no?

Anonymous said...

Of course, she’s definitely announcing she’s pregnant with Quadruplets too !

Anonymous said...

Stop attention seeking. We all know what you’re doing. Emma has moved on with her life. You need to go live yours.

Anonymous said...

“ Never said the trio will be replaced that was someone else.” sure it was 😂

Anonymous said...

'There's another picture of her looking off to the side.'

Wrong thread.
This one is for pointless bickering and establishing the moral high ground.

Anonymous said...

So why perpetuate that? Tbf it’s a troll causing agro but people need to ignore. Though I appreciate it is frustrating.

Anonymous said...

People supporting the TV show even though Jo has little to do with it? Must be hardcore Jo fans? K.....

Anonymous said...

They are commenting on those who can’t seem to cope with people having differing views to them in not caring about the series or being indifferent to it. Not being able to accept that and constantly commenting isn’t normal or healthy. There’s clearly something up with those people.

Anonymous said...

Hi, long time lurker just to say looking forward to the TV show and hopefully do the books justice finally.

Anonymous said...

If the shoe didn’t fit you wouldn’t be upset enough to reply.

Anonymous said...

Alright I’ll bite… If you’re not a Rowling fan then why do you feel the need to reply to every comment that mentions her?

Anonymous said...

The trio is too old or too young to play any of the roles, and if they do they must be desperate. I am looking forward to getting started on the series because of my interest in how such a wonderful piece of literature is turned into a series. The directors for the series were good. We will see what time brings.

Anonymous said...

Series tend to hang on for a while. The more than a while series is the first Star Trek. That series lasted a long time. One watched William Shatner get older. We will see. The movies were great, but I am looking to see what they develop.

Anonymous said...

How can you be a fan of Emma when all you do is constantly put her down? Why do you speak ironically about her and make it seem like she’s in a competition with others about “who is the best,” or like all she did was Harry Potter and she’s going to disappear after the series is released?
Why do you keep bringing up JK here if you can’t stand her, especially when it’s clear she doesn’t respect Emma? How will putting down our opinions make the new HP series more successful? Are you here for any reason other than to provoke and seek attention?

Anonymous said...

Cringe

That One Guy said...

I am seeing an extremely well-fed troll around here, y'all.

Paulino said...

Eden, and if you ever asked yourself if Emma knows about this blog. She actually really does, we even had our arguments on it, but not about you and we both just think you should continue with this as your own little project for your own well-being and also see it from that perspective, no matter how things are also between her and me. Or anyone else. And I am really deeply sorry if I made your blog to get loaded up with Jay Shetty hate comments just so spread hate against Emma or you as well, because I already started to notice it and that's just not how I wanted the discussion to go. It was basically about ultra-capitalist Hollywood and all the people being involved in it and how to change it further by everyone, especially in times like these with a corrupted MAGA administration. Je t'embrasse!

Anonymous said...

Birthday!!!

Anonymous said...

I think "David Guetta vs. Bowie - Just For One Day (Heroes)" is a great track for Emma's birthday theme. Anyone who's seen The Perks of Being a Wallflower will understand

Anonymous said...

Soooo, no one saying happy birthday to Emma??

Anonymous said...

Eden, Have you seen the new podcast with Alex/Emma’s older brother in ? As I watched it he mentioned emma and university. So she could actually be doing that DPhil

Anonymous said...

First glance I read that as Emma appearing on Dr Phil. 😱

Anonymous said...

Emma is the oldest of her siblings

Anonymous said...

Same.I think she actually is.I just listened to the podcast and he did say that.Plus it came out on Emma’s birthday.

Anonymous said...

Doesn’t she have step siblings that nobody knows how old they are?

Anonymous said...

Yes we do, both David and Andrew are younger. Emma has spoken it being the oldest of everyone and included them numerous times. She’s said that Dave isn’t much younger than her, less than a year and they are very close and sort of like twins sometime. Andy is a few years younger so similar to Alex.

Anonymous said...

Alex is a few years younger her than her.

Anonymous said...

We’ve never known for sure. Also she could be doing it full time or part time, or doing it full time for the first couple of years and then switch to part time. I expect she’s doing it for her own personal interest and enjoyment if she is doing it, rather than to be an academic. You wouldn’t be going to be preoscar parties!
