Emma Watson appointed 'Chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Board of Directors' of Kering

Turns out I knew about it since March thanks to Cicile on Twitter and I completely forgot to talk about it. How predictable.

A new photo was released with the annoucement though it dates from 2016.

Kering’s shareholders have approved the appointment of Ms. Jean Liu, Mr. Tidjane Thiam and Ms. Emma Watson as Directors during their Annual General Meeting on June 16th, as proposed by the Board of Directors gathered on March 12th, 2020.
Ms. Watson has also been appointed Chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Board of Directors, while Mr. Thiam was appointed Chair of the Audit Committee.

The combined wealth of experience and skillsets of these three well-known figures will be a complementary asset to the Group, enhancing the quality of the work done by the Board of Directors. The latter will benefit from their contribution in defining the Group’s strategic orientations.

François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kering, commented:
“I am delighted to welcome Jean Liu, Tidjane Thiam and Emma Watson to our Board of Directors. Their respective knowledge and competences, and the multiplicity of their backgrounds and perspectives will be invaluable additions to Kering’s Board of Directors. The collective intelligence that comes from diverse points of view and the richness of different experiences are crucial to the future of our organization. I am proud to add such impressive talents to the team.”

About Emma Watson

Emma Watson is a British actor and activist. She first came to the public’s attention playing Hermione Granger in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter book series, which enjoyed immense success worldwide. Twenty years later, she is one of the world’s most popular actors and best-known activists.
Emma Watson’s filmography includes The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, Noah and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She most recently starred in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women.
In May 2014, she earned a degree in English Literature from Brown University. Also in 2014, she was appointed a UN WOMEN Global Goodwill Ambassador and launched the HeForShe initiative aimed at involving men in the promotion of gender equality. Her work on the HeForShe campaign earned her a place on Time Magazine’s TIME 100 list of the world’s most influential people in 2015.
In 2016, she created Our Shared Shelf, a feminist book club.
Emma Watson is part of the TIME'S UP Entertainment Steering Committee and brought the movement to the UK, coordinating its launch at the UK Film BAFTAs in 2018 and building a network of hundreds of women from across the industry.
Her consultation with the women’s movement led to the establishment of a new UK Justice and Equality Fund, hosted by Rosa and launched by Ms. Watson with a £1million donation. The fund aims to end cultures of harassment, abuse and impunity by resourcing expert organizations in this field. She has also helped launch new UK industry-wide guidelines on harassment and bullying with the British Film Institute (BFI), the British Academy of Film and TV Arts (BAFTA), the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) and other leading bodies. In 2019, French President Emmanuel Macron invited her to sit on the G7’s advisory Gender Equality Council.
Emma Watson is also a pioneer in advocating for sustainable fashion and is a supporter of Good On You, a mobile app which allows consumers to check the sustainability credentials of clothing brands.
In 2018, she was invited to guest edit an edition of Vogue Australia on sustainable development and responsible consumption.

I am not sure it should be labeled as activism more like business career.

So she gave up acting, I suppose :(

Anonymous said...

This probably means she’s choosing to end her acting career definitely. It’s unsurprising, I don’t think she’s been passionate about it for years now. Even if as a fan I don’t want that I’m very happy for her as a person. She’s been building a career outside the entertainment world for a long time now and this is an amazing job opportunity. I respect that she’s pursuing something she genuinely wants to do and I wish her the best. I just hope she will still have a public life, go to events or at least be active on social media so we can still know about her, even of she’s now going to be a business woman instead of an actrees.

Anonymous said...

I don't think it is fair a to hire her in this position. I'm not questioning her authentic interest in the subject. I'm sure she is well informed and we know she does care for the cause. I'm questioning her actual competence related to the field. There are lot of young experts (e.g. PhDs) who I'm sure know sustainability better than she does. These are the people who could bring a truly disruptive perspective within fashion and luxury industry, based on experience and research I don’t know that simply passion and interest and curiosity equate to ‘expertise’ in a field. Like I love music and I listen to a wide variety of musical genres, but does that mean that I should be appointed conductor of an orchestra? I don't think so. I see that more as PR hire to gather more attantion and maybe some promotion, but maybe I am wrong.

About her giving up an acting. We don't know, how big her role would really gonna be, but we expected that it might be end. Let's be real it's fantastic oportunity to start a business career, most of us wouldn't be able to secure that kind of spot.

Eden said...

"I am not sure it should be labeled as activism more like business career"

True. I didn't have a label for it yet and didn't know what to use. I'll just label it "Kering" for now.

''True. I didn't have a label for it yet and didn't know what to use. I'll just label it "Kering" for now.''

You think it's gonna be more infos about that and Emma gonna be an active member of this company?

I have no idea. I don't even understand what her role is and Lord of the Rings is on TV so I can't focus for even two seconds to try to understand.

Have a nice movie night, Eden

Nah I don’t think she’s giving up acting, I think if the right thing comes along she’ll still do it. People said that before Little Women. Her time on the G7 gender committee has finished (though she still has her UN and other charity work), and her fashion work (remember when she actually designed clothes) hasn’t happened for a while and she isn’t working for any brand other than supporting Good on You and ThreadUp. Times Up has also calmed downs a little, so for Emma she has a little time compared to before even with the UN work and as Associate Fellow of LMH. She’s always had her finger in loads of pies and will continue to do so. This is just another one. She’s always said she wanted to be a Renaissance women and do loads of things, she’s done that since she was a teenager, she’s not a regular actress.

Eden said...

"she’s not a regular actress"

XD Got me 'Mean Girls' flashback.

Thank you, Anon :)

I’m on not giving up acting.
This a coup for Kering. People were saying she’s not the face of any brand like others and whether she’s going to do that, this is now aligning herself with several brands and improving them environmentally. It’s a sponsorship deal with massive bells on where she gets influence. She always goes further in than usual.
I didn’t think she go with a brand again as she got burned by Lancôme, they promised her influence and an eco makeup line and didn’t give it to her. Also she’d have to be face of a sustainable brand. This is typical Emma and it suits her image. Emma was never just going to be the “face” of a company. They introduce her as an actress and will be using her connections, knowledge, selling ability and name to make their brands appeal to the younger generation. Of course she couldn’t just do a regular endorsement, she’d have to do more. She may not do an advertising campaign as she’ll be above that but they’ll put her on loads.

Anonymous said...

I'm really happy for her. And although some people complain about her not being in movies consistently, I'm genuinely impressed. She must have a hell of a work ethnic or some really good recommendation letters. Because while some of her side interests/projects overlap most don't. And the fact that all those people see her as an asset has to be mean something. While one can argue that it's cause of her following, there's more famous/more talked about people that her. And I genuinely like the fact that she doesn't put all eggs in one basket.

Anonymous said...

''She must have a hell of a work ethnic or some really good recommendation letters.''

No swettie she has a well know name. She is not ordinary person she deosn't need recommendation letters. Everyone who finished design and fabrics studies, is better qualified for this job. They wanted famous name, fine but in ideal world ( and Emma wants that) she shouldn't have this position.

Eden said...

The truth is we have no idea what her qualifications are. She could have earned more diplomas than her English literature one via only courses and we wouldn't know because she doesn't share anything with her anymore. I'm sure her name was a factor and that someone our there is more qualified than her for this but I don't care. We don't have news from her anymore and I'm excited for this even though I have no idea what it implies.

Anonymous said...

I don’t think you guys realize how huge this is, people here is talking about it like any other brand deal with a celeb. But she’s in the board of directors of a billionaire company! This is a position of responsibility not just an advertisement campaign. I agree her fame and image must’ve been a factor in landing the job but it can’t possibly be just that. If it were she would just be a brand ambassador like any other celeb that is hired to promote their products.

Anonymous said...

Another strand to her renaissance woman bow begins, she was never going to just be a model for another brand. I thought if she stepped back she might collaborate with someone like Stella McCartney but she’s gone right to not only collaborating but advising major brands.
She really does like a slashy career - actress/ activist/ UN ambassador/ charity non-exec / Associate fellow / model /yoga instructor, now add in fashion exec and business director, we’ll prob get producer in 5 years, Director in 10. She may decide to sell some of her paintings and write. She does like having balls in the air!

Anonymous said...

No wonder she eased up on our shared shelf. Would have had a bit too much on with this and everything else. They called her an actress in the press release so I wouldn’t worry about that. The biggest thing with Emma acting or not acting is Emma. If Greta knocks again I think she will.

Anonymous said...

Good for her When she said she wanted to do a little bit of everything as a teenager, she wasn't kidding.

Anonymous said...

A person without a degree in design, or business, without any experience in that department, become a part of a Board of Directors multi billionaire company, just like that. Compare her achievements with other two members and you will understand why she got that job. I know it sound harsh, but its reality.

Anonymous said...

While I'm sure that her name helped her get her foot in the door. This isn't a celebrity endorsement deal or campaign. She's going to actually be doing business for the company. And that requires a good work ethnic . And like a Anon said either a really good recommendation letter/s. Or she's done something to get their attention enough to even consider her for the position. Which I wouldn't be surprised about she tends to work on projects on the down low

Anonymous said...

They can't erase the actress bit whatever she likes it or not, she's famous from playing a character in a very popular franchise. They can't just say that she's a feminist activist with a book club also let's not forget that she got the role of Meg because Emma Stone dropped out and Sony wanted another big name

Anonymous said...

Pick the odd one out;

https://www.kering.com/en/news/jean-liu-tidjane-thiam-and-emma-watson-join-the-board-of-kering-as-directors

Sorry I struggle to see how Emma qualifies for the Board of a company with revenue of €15.9 billion.
Advisory position with regard to sustainability maybe, but director of a company of that size, based on her qualification and experience?

Anonymous said...

That’s very impressive, they’d have put a case to the shareholders to appoint her, a company that size doesn’t do things off the cuff. This is a major opportunity that will enable her to actually change the way the brands work in terms of sustainability. Absolutely massive brands. As other qualifications, clearly they feel she’s up to the job and brings a lot to the table.

On the acting front, I think she’ll do it as and when she wants to as she’s been doing, she’s not exactly prolific, maybe every few years or so even. She seems to be all about the project rather than the acting itself. People saying on LW that oh she only got it as Emma Stone pulled out, yes that is true, that’s how acting roles work loads as people swap all the time. The key thing is she still got it.

This will keep her pretty busy but then she’s always seemed pretty busy, she’s always doing stuff we hear about after, and as people have said she’s swapped some stuff out to free up some time. People like Reese Witherspoon, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Kate Hudson all have what would normally be multiple careers, alongside their acting/singing and charity work as well. Emma will just juggle, though she’ll probably through herself fully into just this for a few months first, that’s generally what she does on new projects.

It's a business move.
As of now: it has nothing to do with any activism/involvement/mission of hers.
If hiring her turns out to be a step towards better transparency and sustainability in fashion, it can be said after some time from now.
For me all her moves are empty slogans, however they are being sold as a big involvement and she may have good intentions (I'm not questioning it), but a form of real activism requires way more walk instead only talk the talk. Placing hundreds of posts on IG doesn't make the job here.
In my opinion she's not willing to dedicate a lot of her time (she does have right to do whatever she wants but her PR Team shouldn't present it as full-time activism job since she's more interested in her private whereabouts and not in the public activities; of course: no one does take this right away from her).
Moreover: she's still seems to me (it's my private opinion) as an wealthy, extremely privileged (with the same wealthy background) person who is not willing to leave her comfort zone (if needed) in the name of fight for better world for millions as she (and her PR team) tries to convince (or better said: fool) the public opinion.

Anonymous said...

Got to agree with this tbh.

Sadly, it also seems to drive a further wedge between her and her fanbase, as I doubt many will be shopping in these outlets.

It will also be interesting to see if her activism becomes diluted, as these companies are notoriously conservative in outlook. They serve their shareholders and to think any differently is more than a little naive

Anonymous said...

so in the end she ends up 'working' for a charity (aka a business) which typically uses a chunk of it's donations to pay it's staff at the top over inflated salaries.

how on earth can anyone be inspired by emma going forward is beyond me

she could have been so much better if she worked at it. such a disappointment. the dream is over.

stay safe everyone

This is unbelievable. First job in business and she's already a director and on a board of multi billionaire company. I must say she is extremely lucky person, one won audition open her every door. Most of people would die for a chance like that and she's only 30.

Anonymous said...

Id like to apologise in advance English isn't my first language. The thing about being on the Board of Directors at any company especially one like this. Is that you have to get nominated and then everybody above you has to agree that you're up to snuff. Then is the interviewing process that goes on for months. While her name definately helps her get her foot in the door. Im genuinely wordering why she was chosen. Don't get me wrong , Im happy for her. But also confused. The only business that she's done that we know of. Is being on the non-executive board(it might be a different board/position )for charities. And the hotlines she's the founder/creator of. But we don't exactly what she does in that position

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry guys, but I think there is nothing about equal in this choice. This is a wonderful opportunity and I understand why Emma was chosen, but it's different than UN thing, here using her name and face she advertise a private company. I don't know, but it makes me cringe.

Anonymous said...

Nobody said this was an activist move though. They actually described her as an actress who does activism work. She's a part of 35 non profit charities where she's on the non-executive committee. While I agree that she isn't a full time activist, it's not like she's not doing anything either

Anonymous said...

God, people whine about everything don’t they... and that she just talks the talk re activism is pretty amazing, I mean she literally marches (women’s march), lobbies leaders to change laws and implement change (G7 gender steering committee), draws attention to and gives platforms to charities, minorities and other activists (the How to Academy talks, Imkaan, the Mugawee Foundation, our shared shelf), helps found charities to implement change (Rosa, the legal justice fund), has funded scholarships (camfed), draws attention to the work of young activists (one young world), mentors young people (mermaids), advises charities (non exec of several UK charities), promotes change in her industry (steering committee for Time’s Up, founder of UK version), has designed for and promoted organizations paying people fairly (People Tree, Eco Age, Good on You), uses her social media platform to retweet share and support views of activists and charities and shares resources for people to educate themselves (see twitter and Instagram) and donates her money (gave 5 million away last year, £1m to legal justice fund). What more would people like her to do exactly? She seems to be doing pretty much everything she can to me and is allowed to have a career outside that?
This is a great opportunity for her, both for her own career (which again she’s allowed to do) but also to try and change what is the worlds most polluting industry from the inside.
Fair criticism is absolutely fine, but jes, give the girl a break. She’s advancing herself and has been helping others where she can as well for years.

Anonymous said...

I'm aware that her name definitely helped get her foot in the door. I just don't know how/why she got picked for this position. But I'm happy for her, some people above have said she's notorious for working on projects on the down low and we don't even know about them until later. Wishing everybody the best on this new project.

Jenny - Kering Group isn’t pretending to be a charity, never has been, it’s a business. It’s a fashion group, that since losing Stella McCartney has been trying to improve its brands from a environmental standpoint. It staff are well paid, it’s needs to do better in its production lines. It’s much easier to change an industry from the inside. This is an opportunity for her to do so, that’s also undeniably good for her career, as she’s part of overseeing the like of Gucci and Alexander McQueen, rather than asking brands to do sustainable things just so she can wear them (what she started doing during Potter).
I can’t see how people would be fine with her being the face of things like Burberry but would have a good at her now for this. This makes more sense as she’ll try and up their enviro creditable and also now that her fans are older, a lot of them would be these the target market of designer brands. People will buy Gucci, they always will, it would be better if they bought from a Gucci that polluted less.

Anonymous said...

Now we know why she wore Balenciaga dress on LW premiere.

Anonymous said...

They lost Stella McCartney last year, so they wanted to sign a big name and repair their PR and brand.

Anonymous said...

As well as improving their brands sustainability, I can see why she’s joined Kering. It fits her in lots of other ways. Since 2009, the Kering Foundation initiated 47 partnerships with NGOs and supported many social projects oriented towards women’s rights. In 2015, Kering became an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival and launched Women in Motion to highlight the contribution of women to the film industry, in front and behind the camera.
They seem to fit very well. Board appointments are usually for a couple of years initially so let’s see how this goes. Most of it will be behind the scenes work.

'' where she's on the non-executive committee''

Where it that come from?

''I can’t see how people would be fine with her being the face of things like Burberry but would have a good at her now for this. I don't think people question her choice, they guestion Kering choice and Emma expertise.

A lot of the corporate and fashion press have been very supportive of the move, look at Bloomberg:

I belive people would be ok with it, if she was named a consultant or something like that. Become a director and a member of the board straight away is making people question her qualities for this job and I understand that. Let's be real, it's very high position and Emma experiences in that field are limited to People Tree from a dacade ago, promoting an aplication, plus working on one edition of Vogue Australia. When you compare that to other two new members CVs, it's getting even more questionable.

Anonymous said...

I see you blocking my posts.

Well Eden old fellow. Why isn't her appointment nepotism?

Anonymous said...

''A lot of the corporate and fashion press have been very supportive of the move''

Of course they are. This is a great PR move, sustainability is very hot topic, and nobody really know what her work and how big her role gonna be so it's difficult to criticize.

Anonymous said...

Anon at 4.50
With reference to Burberry I meant it in reference to people saying she’d alienate her fan base as they wouldn’t be able to buy the brands. Many of them will actually be the brands target market.

In respect of her credentials, Kerings shareholders would have had to vote her on unanimously, they must hugely support it, as must the rest of the board. She clearly brings something to the table for them to hire her, they don’t want to hire people with the same expertise or background. As someone above said, Bloomberg feel it’s a very positive break of the mould to regular hires and most of the press are reporting as it a big win for Kering. I wouldn’t be worried for Kering or Emma.

Anonymous said...

Cnn was a little more reaserved about this move.

Orsola de Castro, co-founder and global creative director of the non-profit Fashion Revolution told CNN that while Watson has "impeccable" credentials when it comes to speaking out on issues, the experience needed to enforce systemic change within the conglomerate could fall out of her sphere of expertise.
"She's been an advocate about sustainability, but she sure is no expert," de Castro said. "Overall the employment of celebrities tends to pay service to the communication and the marketing efforts more than the real change that's needed on the ground."
"The real changes that are needed are not necessarily yet contemplated -- we're talking about a systemic change of the supply chain, so that all supply chain workers are unionized and fairly paid," de Castro said, adding that issues around the use of restricted substances were also an area in need of addressing.

So they said almost exactly what we voiced here. She is great advocate and she understand a problem, but they guestion her expertise.

Anonymous said...

If she gets a little job people question it, if she gets a big job people question it. They obviously know what they’re doing appointing her and that it’s the right move for them. Anyway, massive congrats Emma!

Anonymous said...

She won’t solve everything on her own, she’ll have and need people around her for the issues that fall outside her knowledge. They’ll need a lot more than Emma for longterm change, everybody is aware of that. But that they appointed her i think is a step in the right direction and I think a smart move from them.

She’s on the board for her areas of knowledge, what she’s learned and her connections from people tree, Good on You, Eco age and her research and talking to activists, she’s also a powerful voice and will have perspective on what young shoppers etc want. They’ll benefit by association with her. What she doesn’t have (which admittedly is lots) will be filled by others on the board and she’ll learn and grow into the role. She’ll be chair of a sustainability committee so whilst she has a good track record on certain issues with sustainability (and she’s pretty used to chairing committees at this stage she’s done several) others on the committee such as lawyers and producers will have more detailed knowledge of materials issues and unionizing workers. She won’t bring miracles but it’s a step for Kering and a good move for her.

Kristen Stewart just got cast as Princess Diana, my twitter feed is heavy with people suggesting emma instead. Playing princess Diana is a complete poison chalice though. I’m finding this all way weirder than Emma and Kering. You want to see someone unsuited to a role you got it

Anonymous said...

Frankly Emma is in no way qualified for this. I doubt she got another degree and even if how does that qualify her? Other 30 year olds have degrees too and at least some working experience.

Wealthy Ivy Leaguers getting jobs as a gift is EXACTLY what feminism is against.

This corporate move is likely the last straw for me in terms of being a fan. I was already on my way out because so little happens and she also doesnt want to interact with fans in any meaningful way. Her promo for Little Women was so...little. Pottershots shutting down without an announencement because no one cared anymore is the perfect example of people losing interest in her.

I'm not even a fan of Emma's, but I've got to know. Can y'all ever just be happy for this girl. She hasn't even done anything yet. And y'all are already to jump down her throat. I came across this on Twitter where people are dragging almost all the Potter cast for disagreeing whith J.M Rowling's statements . Atleast let her try and if she fucks up then give her constructive criticism. She just got hired, atleast give her a chance.

Anonymous said...

Im not going to be a fan of a Director of a billion dollar company. I would have never thought it would come to this.

Anonymous said...

Y'all do realize that Kering didn't just decide to hire her right? They've been looking for somebody for this position for over a year. And Emma's name thrown into the running in December 2019. Kering doesn't just hire anybody for these positions. They need to prove that they're "worth" hiring. And go through multiple meetings with ALL the higher ups of the company. Why are y'all already complaining, she's literally just got hired. She hasn't even done anything yet.

Anonymous said...

Yeah sure, her fan base is waning as signaled by pottershots closing and titan getting fed up of moderating it, Emma approaching 60m followers making her the worlds most followed actress (who isn’t also a singer) shows nothing. Reasonable criticism is one thing but just whining, I mean don’t let the the door hit you on your way out, some people are never happy.

I'm surprised that people are upset that other ones question Emma hiring. I mean, first of all she is celebrity so it always brings some questions. Secondly, it's pretty unusual to start a corporate career at director position and being a member of a board.

Anonymous said...

If some of y'all don't care about her being on the Board of Directors at Kering. Then why are y'all nitpicking the situation. She got a job that she's probably really exited about. Is it really too much to ask y'all to be happy for her? And no she doesn't get a free pass through the interview and application process just because she's a celebrity. Companies like Kering don't care who you are they care about what you can bring to the table. It's not like they're an unknown company. I wouldn't be surprised if they had people with a bigger following or more expirence than Emma trying to get an interview.

Anonymous said...

Well, at least we know Emma still triggers people because the comments are always gold in here. Lol

I'm genuinely looking foward to what she does with Kering. With that being said, is it really that hard for some of y'all just to be happy for her. I haven't been on this blog since last summer. But there is yet to be a post where people aren't complaining about something that she has or hasn't done. Atleast give her a bloody chance before y'all start complaining.

She knows Salma Hayek, who must know thousands of people, and it’s not like they’re tight. Salma wouldn’t get her approved by the shareholders. I know people at lots of organizations, that how business works, I might hear about a role through them but it doesn’t me they’ll put me on the board. You still go through an approval process, especially for a company that size.

Kering doesn’t exist to help out Emma, it’s made this decision solely because everyone high up at Kering thinks it will benefit Kering. They want to close the gap on LVMH and have their brands survive post COVID. They aren’t in the business of handouts. If Emma didn’t fit she doesn’t get hired. They know what they’re doing, it doesn’t make the money it does because they run it incompetently.

The board of directors doesn’t run stuff day to day, it’s not the management board. This will be work for her but it’s not a full time job. People often sit on the board of directors of a large amount of companies if they are sought after (to my knowledge Emma sits as a non-executive director on numerous charity boards). They are generally elected a bring a specific insight the company wants, regardless of experience and you look for a spread of people. The board of directors oversee things and protect the interests of the company, and they are generally appointed for a couple of years and often rotate in and out. Emma won’t be managing sustainability at Kering, the head of sustainability and management team do that. Emma will be monitoring its progress and chairing a team to make recommendations. It’s a coveted position and high profile but shouldn’t be a massively time consuming one, as isn’t involved in the day to day stuff (though I’d imagine she’ll have lots of meetings other than board ones to track progress), she’ll still be able to do other stuff.
Kering must think she’s up to it and will add value, they wouldn’t get it through the shareholders if it was window dressing or a favour. Shareholders want an uptick in dividends, simple as, they must feel Emma’s appointment will do that.

If you don't care then why did you comment?

Anon said ... that's why she wore Balenciaga on Little woman premiere

By that logic then most of the Little Women cast should also be on the Board of Directors. Almost all of them wore a brand with ties to Kering on the Little Women press tour.

Read the room Emma. Right now is not the time for a white woman to take a job that she isnt qualified for (and it wont be the time in the future ever again). It would be best if she stepped down and made sure a black woman is hired for this job.

okay we know she has supported sustainable fashion in the past. How does that make her an expert exactly? in Bloomberg article it has been stated multiple times that Kering is trying to reach and satisfy a younger audience. Meaning that they’re using Emma to attract said demographic. They want to show the youngsters that they’re becoming more modern and are learning. I doubt they’re really banking on Emma’s expertise here. It’s all about drawing in younger buyers. It's straight PR move.

Hi there,
are there any news about "a happy couple"? Are they still posts on a shared blog? I know I'm invading into Emma's privacy now, but a lot more information has been mentioned here in previous discussions and I'm just wondering if they're still together, in selfquarantine, maybe still in the UK(?) I'm sorry if it offends someone, but I don't mean it bad and neither I'm not asking for any details. In truth, I will be glad if Emma will be finally satisfied and happy, and with Leo, ehmm sorry, with Fake Jesus, it looks very promising so far

"it looks very promising so far

Seriously how could anyone know that? We had like two picture set of them and not having seen them in MONTHS. No one knows if anything promising is happening.

In regards to the topic: I really dont understand Emmas life anymore.

Anonymous said...

Yes still posting on private Instagram etc. still followed by close friends and family from both sides. Still seem to be in England.

Anonymous said...

To me, it’s hard to tell, especially since she’s had many relationships that looked promising, but wasn’t. She was with Will for a long while, and looked happy, and I think it would’ve gone farther if it weren’t for the drug thing. She looked really happy with Matt also, and according to reports, many of her friends thought that he would be “the one” and that she met his family and they were “thrilled” they were dating. The relationship with Mack went the furthest with it lasting about 2 years, he introduced her to his family, reports saying that her family “adored him”, and with the speculated engagement. Her current relationship right now may look promising, but something could happen.

While it is her personal life and deserves to have her private life kept private. I'll admit they do look cute together and seemed happy. But honestly who knows?

I do wonder if Emma lacks self-awareness, is naive or just has an enormous ego.

She talks a lot last week about white privilege and this week accepts a role for which she is eminently unqualified.

Hey Emma talking the talk requires walking the walk.

"Well, at least we know Emma still triggers people because the comments are always gold in here. Lol"

Hypocrisy always tends to trigger....

Is fake-Jesus jobless now? Does anyone know what business he owns currently?

Anonymous said...

"Does anyone know what business he owns currently?"

Self employed as a provider of sensual & erotic services to Miss Emma Watson, latterly of London.

Like the new 'format' Eden; bright & breezy.

Anonymous said...

What sort of things do they post?

Anonymous said...

Emma very often meets the family. That means nothing. She visited Johnnys hometown with him and it was just a short fling. She went to family dinners with George Craig and that was also a short fling etc.

She never had a long term relationship so I doubt she wants one, she never had trouble finding someone so its not that.

I saw Leo sign up for Linkedin, he just started a company, I'm not sure if he's still in England, but their IG account is still there and hasn't been updated in half a month.

Wow what a new layout. Bright and happy

Indeed, there are many insecure people who get triggered by famous people they put way to much stock in.

Anonymous said...

No he’s a business consultant specializing in advising startups which he also generally invests in, especially “stealth” ones and he also seems to help businesses turn around their brands. Seems to be doing pretty well at it.

Anonymous said...

Those who have seen her private account, could you at least describe its content?

Anonymous said...

"Is fake-Jesus jobless now? Does anyone know what business he owns currently?"

Hot cross buns

Anonymous said...

no worries, he starts no later in week as the director of the department of sustainable development of organic production somewhere in the Kering group....hahaha

Anonymous said...

How do you know that? Are you one accepted follower? Because i saw a while ago a screenshot of the private Instagram but some fans said the name is changed now...also you can't see who follows that account and the photos if it's private. Are you one of their friends or something?

Anonymous said...

It's been around 2 weeks since they've posted to their private IG account. But it's still up and followed by close friends and family on both sides. Idk if they're still together or not though. Also every time Emma's met her boyfriends parents and had a short relationship. It's almost always come out later that he broke her,or that it simply wasn't working out and they both called it quits. There's been a few guys that have been seen with their next girlfriend or fling within a 2 weeks of the break up. The same thing can be said about Emma if you go off of paparazzi pictures. But I doubt that her hair can almost be at her shoulders and grow a foot longer in less than a 6 months. Or have diffrent shades of balayage, highlights and ombre or just basic undertones change so quickly. If I'm wrong about hair nor being able to change that fast then I'm genuinely jealous of her hair. Cause most people's would be damaged to some degree with that fast of a change, and hers seems fine.

I can’t see the content, I have the names of both her private Instagram and their one together and once you have the names once’s it will still bring them up in the insta search section when the name changes. You can see that they post to the couple account pretty regularly. I only look very occasionally and the posts number jumps up. She posts to her private account sporadically. You can’t see who follows directly but lots of Leo’s family had public Instas at the start (one of his sisters still does) and it was easy to follow them, most have now gone private but not purged their followers. Therefore you can see that they follow the account, their posts and also the couple account liking and commenting on things (often twice, presumably one from him and her). It’s also pretty easy to guess who else follow the couple account/Emma privately. A lot of those people also have public accounts so you can see they follow them and then see comments etc.
With LinkedIn Leo used to have it showing his full career history etc. but he got rid of it along with FB and also deleted all the posts from his private insta as it got hacked.

Just FYI - George Craig wasn’t a fling, he was about a year and half. They were actually quite serious. I know his family.

Anonymous said...

They haven’t posted on the couple Instagram in a little while, not usual but I do wonder, as they’ve both posted/liked as their own accoubts. Presume if they broke up though they’d delete it?

Anonymous said...

I think I've found their account but I can't see their profile because it's obviously private.

:-D oh my god I love this comment. great, anon. :-D

I don't know if they broke up, but a few days ago they added a follower to their private account, maybe they just wanted to be quiet for a while, because recent events have affected Emma's mood.

Anonymous said...

Emma is fairly business savvy, she’s actually had her own company for investments for some time. Apparently it did really well this year, she made an extra million on the stock market. Though can’t see that lasting with the turbulence this year!!

Anonymous said...

Whether they're still together or not. I thought we had all realized that her relationships are longer than what the media says. Seeing as how she never announces a new relationship or breakup the moment they happen

Anonymous said...

She manages to keep things pretty quiet generally, even with someone like Craig they managed 18 months, and they got together earlier than the press thought and we together long after the press said they’d broken up. For such a famous person she manages to have a decent private life and the press are nearly always guessing with her.
Leo seems very low key which is good for her.

Anonymous said...

find it odd mail online didn't cover this.....

Anonymous said...

Mail online are pretty useless unless someone tells them.
They took 6 months to get Leo’s name

Anonymous said...

Her relationship with George isn't the only one that had started a long time before the media found out. It also wasn't the only one to have lasted alot longer than was reported by the media. Example: they thought Emma and George were together for 6ish months at most instead of the year and half that they were actually together.

Anonymous said...

Im not surprised it took them 6 months to get Leo's name. It took 5 months (some say they had been together longer than that) to get Mack's name. Partially due to them thinking she was dating Roberto even though he had been dating his now wife for a year by then. And Emma and Rob both saying they were just friends.

Anonymous said...

Why would someone like Emma who is private have a shared couple account with Leo? My cringe about couple accounts could be a bias xD but from a privacy pov it looks odd too.

Anonymous said...

Their bio use to say (I'm paraphrasing)...just a couple trying to make it through quarantine. My guess was probably to try to keep in touch with close friends and family. Alot of people have said Leo's account got hacked. Also it's not like Emma to post relationship related pictures ...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

I didn't know there was such a thing as shared couple accounts (I live a sheltered life in the basement), but yep my first reaction is cringe,

I guess eat your heart out Clark & Ellen Griswold.

A lot of very large companies like to have a "name" on their Boards. I think it will suit Emma and I genuinely wish her well.

They’ve posted twice in the last two days, so they’re all good!

Anonymous said...

Those of you who know their account, do they still have a bio? Cause I think I've found it but it doesn't have one.

Anonymous said...

No they erased their bio, changed their username and profile picture when people realized it was them.

Their account don't have a bio anymore but it use to

Su cuenta no tiene descripción.

They deleted the bio.
