Amazing ❤️

so the wig was not in the ad with short hair at all? so strange they used it and those not great still images for promo when every shot of Emma in the actual ad is way better!!

Anonymous said...

really like this ad, she did a really good work for her first directing skill . I hope she will do more and more directing

Anonymous said...

same 🖤

Nicely done and IMO much better and more focussed than her previous 'art project'.

I'm sure it will bring attention to the perfume which is obviously the point, but as I said yesterday I'm never going to buy a perfume based on a celebrity's endorsement.

I'm speechless! The ad is amazing and she's so beautiful!

Spot on.

I personally think the advert is a bit of a mess and the script is poor.

I love that part where she's laying on the rock (those last two photos), and where she has her head above the water. Just great. Great video!

she has wig for vr head set shots i think? but it looks great in the blue lighting should have used those and green dress shots in promo imo

Anonymous said...

The are a few short hair shots but i think they know the wig doesnt look the best so the ad doesn't linger on that and skips over them quickly. Overall good job but i think less voice over and just music with emma not spekaing right until the end to simply say 'Paradoxe by Prada' would have higher impact but maybe just me

What do you think Eden are you confused why the Ad is so much better than the still images they put out?

i agree the video is way more what i was expecting compared to the stills from start of the wekk

"I personally think the advert is a bit of a mess and the script is poor."

Cosmetics commercials are always like that, they sell them as "concept products". Sound ponderous and say absolutely nothing.

Emma knows how to frame herself from flattering angles on the video more than the person who took the poster images seriously such an upgrade here compared to what they posted on insta this week

kinda like letting the images speak for themselves? hmmm i want to make a fan edit with new music and just have emma speak at the end and see how it works heheh

will prada sue me??? lol its just for fun please dont prada hahahaa

NGL I was feeling very negative from the start of the campaign with the pixie cut wig as others say but this final product redeemed the whole thing very happy with it though I can't afford such things oh well xD

the head-on shot of emma with the nose ring looking like a cyberpunk goth makes me feel things... oh my.... #WomanCrush :D

But she directed the campaing, so she probably chose those photos.

The pics are clickbaits, some people like them (for whatever reason) and some hate them. In the end, the pics are eye-catchers. It's like a fashion show, no one likes those ridiculous outfits, but they keep designing them.
I guess they will use them at the stores and magazines.

Won't lie i heard the sound of 1000s of vibrators being switched on as soon as that shot happened lmao

eden probably wont allow this joke lol sorry just playing eden hehehe

The only thing that this commercial make me thinks about is how I miss Emma Watson on screen.

The message behind this is awfully obvious, and I say awfully cause this isn't a short movie, but a commercial, the message sounds much more hypocritical when is coming from any big enterprise.

The story could have been interesting in a longer work, but here is really suffocated and made look silly by some exaggeration in the style, other then whole being a commercial part of it.

I wish Emma the best as a a director, but I also wished she had followed Bonnie Wright's approach to this path.

i love it, especially cyberpunk Emma

i bet she will open her own production company like reese Witherspoon or something

"But she directed the campaing, so she probably chose those photos"

She directed the video, not the whole thing. It's not her perfume, they're just using her image.

i think some german photographer was hired for the phots but i forget the name i read sorry

Anonymous said...

@dabo You're a photographer too, right? Do you also film?

Emma is directing a commercial not a fillm, she just wants to show her creativity and apply everything she learns along the way, besides Bonnie is vlogging her enviromental lifestyle.

I'm speechless Eden

From her insta: "When Prada asked me to be the face of their new fragrance campaign, I asked if I could direct it."

Maybe I'm wrong, but that sounds to me like she was in charge of the whole project.

I feel like the "be yourself" message is overused and unoriginal. I've seen dozens of commercials just like this one.

From this video, I get the feeling that there is a longer version, or at least I hope so. Because there are certain cuts that are very abrupt. Generally, I really really likes the video

Meh, I've seen worse adverts- this one is well shot but some of the concepts are rather lame, such as flapping arms around at the tv monitors, sitting on the floor surrounded by laptops whilst wearing a VR headset... cheesy, like an A-level students short-film project. It feels like Emma was concerned mainly with portraying herself as multifaceted and capable through the medium of interpretive story telling, rather than giving much attention to the product.

The only thing most people will care about is buying the perfume to look cool & trendy, without knowing or caring how it actually smells, which the advert fails at explaining entirely.

I googled Emma today, after the released of her video, I'm so dissapointed, the media is more interested in her outing with BG, rather than her directoral debut project

Deeply silly but very pretty with some striking imagery. About as good as these ads get. Emma has a good sense for timing and knows her angles. I'd love to see her direct something a bit more substantial. The little nod to her famous "self-partnered" comment was cute.

Fragrance ad copy is always like this, by the way, faux poetic self-empowerment woowoo the spokeswoman reads in a soft voice. It's meant to evoke a feeling and mood rather than make a point. The mood here is progressive, futuristic, confident, what the brand is going for.

So she's done a good job. Here's hoping the fragrance/campaign does well, and that she tries more directing. Though I have a feeling she's going to prefer more avant-garde mood stuff than narrative film like Greta Gerwig.

Tbh even I, as a casual reader, am more interested in her outing with Green than Prada campaign. I would rather be more excited about her acting or even directing a full length movie than this Prada Paradox since I'm not interested in the product in the first place.

Anonymous said...

The music elevated the add, not the other way around. There's a huge disconnect between perfume adds and the product they sell in general. The visuals are striking, would have been more apt for a UHD TV commercial.

I get it that EW sees herself as a paradox, she even claimed that 'it was so her.' But after watching the commercial, I can't see any connection between the perfume and herself. Thankfully they included a picture of the perfume bottle because all the narrative is like "Emma Watson. Emma Watson. Emma Watson... Paradoxe by Prada." I think its only because we know before hand that it's about a perfume that's why the anticipation/confusion on what the product is is absent. But then again, some says that that's usually how commercials go, mostly vague until you see the product.

I wished she included what links her with the perfume  and focused on what REALLY makes her a paradox. Because to be honest, if you go over what she's said/monologue, any average individual is also like that. "I celebrate my imperfections. I do my days in joy. Yes, sometimes I'm afraid but my dreams (idk what word she said after this) to be outside..." Aren't we all?! The only thing unique about what she said was about the 'partner' thing since she's known for the 'self-partner' idea.

Don't get me wrong, the shots were great. Which leads me to wonder on why she did not included the crew behind this. I mean with all her special mention of the crew, thanking them, when the posted about Harry Potter and when she posted a photo of herself, saying the getting behind the camera is empowering. Even a brief flash of their names in the commercial or mentioning them in her caption would probably suffice. I mean, since she already bothered to include her name in 'film by... and directed by...' why not include others as well. But then again, maybe they wanted privacy (?)

- A review from an individual, who likes to think that she's also a paradox, ha!

To be honest I agree with her/his review.

I love Emma and the commercial is visually stunning but exactly where is the paradox? If this commercial is portraying her then she comes across as a well rounded, intelligent woman but not a paradox.

The script is cliché - it's actually hardly ever needed in luxury commercials because you can easily follow the storyline visually.

In this case - if you remove her voice, what exactly is going on in the commercial other than a series of beautiful shots?

The storyline (audio or visual) feels a little too skin deep even for a perfume commercial.

do you think we get new content of Emma for Prada? BTS or something

Anonymous said...

Idk man maybe they're just trying to make short films for Emma since it's been 3 years this woman was never seen on TV/Movie/any project at all

Anonymous said...

I'm just happy that i could see her again even if it's only 90 secs

Huh..I promised myself I won't write a comments here after being rude and angry to Eden, but I will break the rule for moment .
The slogan itself :"I never be the same but I am always myself " is paradoxe. Very philosophic and I like it.The many various of Emma is paradox too.She is the cyber girl, the one connect to earth ,the posh one, the artist, free one, all in one. It is paradoxe!!!!! Well, I expected more deepness and a short movie but is fine.
