I mean, yeah it’s customary, but it is not a law that says you have to be with your loved one on that day. People can celebrate Valentin’s the next day or the day before. I mean it’s not Valentine’s Day but this July I’ll be spending the Fourth of July doing other things so will be celebrating it with fireworks a couple days after.
I know that’s not a good example because it’s not the national day of love but just stating that even if you’re with somebody, you don’t have to make mandatory plans on that day shoot we didn’t. It’s too busy on the 14th. We’re actually doing something on the 16th to celebrate Valentine’s Day less crowded at restaurants. Lol

Staff and students are banned from engaging in any form of sexual or romantic relationships ( by law) . Well that escalated quickly! See, this is what happens when Emma hides in her burrow too long. Some of us go feral.
It is legal in the UK for professors to date students of adult age, even undergraduates. It is unethical if:
1. The educator has direct authority over the student's academic or professional career
2. The educator has unfair influence on an impressionable younger person
3. The school's rules forbid it
Most schools directly forbid romantic connections between graduates (professors and TAs) and undergraduates, and discourage relationships between professors and their graduate student proteges.
HOWEVER.
The ethical burden is 100% on the professor, not on the student. Even if Kieran were Emma's direct professor (which he is not), she would bear none of the blame for him crossing ethical boundaries. Even considering that she is wealthy and famous, he has the position of authority insofar as the school is concerned.
All that said, he's not her professor, and they're both grown adults of roughly the same age. Absolutely nothing is unethical here.
Of course, Emma's dated financiers and tech bros, so it's not like her picker is perfect. In terms of ethics, an Oxford grad student is WAY better than some Silicon Valley or Wall Street weasel.
But also people need to stop looking to celebrities to be their moral teachers. And Emma's done a lot of very real good with her activism, which is more important than her status or lack thereof as a role model.

Kieran is said to be a 2016 graduate and is now working on his master which means the YOUNGEST he could possibly be would be b. 1994. Which means he’s currently 30 or has possibly already turned 31. Gentle reminder Emma graduated 2014 but didn’t go to university straight away AND took breaks. People in her birth year who did graduated go straight away with no breaks generally graduated 2012. So unless Kieran a unknown genius who skipped grades he’s currently at least 30 older

My friend graduated in the same class he was in back 2016…they weren’t close but there’s also now way Kieran is younger than 30 as of right now. She was among the youngest in that graduating class and her birth year is 1994. She’s turning 31 later this year . Also Kieran isn’t officially a professor nor has he been in the role of an academic authority to Emma. He’s mostly deals with undergraduates and people who study abroad for a year while going for their bachelors.

I know marriages with a 10–15 year age gap, and many of my closest relatives have a 6-7 year difference—even with the woman being older. The age difference is their business, not yours. Hi, I’m not sure if it’s me who was asked about their friend graduating with Kieran. But I’ll answer anyways, she said they didn’t really interact much but he was very nice when they did. Also to the person who keeps insisting that Kieran is younger than 30… My friend was literally born on the cutoff week for that specific graduating class. So unless he somehow skipped a couple of grades the youngest he could potentially be is b. 1994. Also no, he isn’t an authoritarian figure when it comes to Emma.
