Emma Watson mourns Gloria Steinem: "I think about how quiet I have been for quite some time now, and I realize that something about that has to change"
Emma is now on Substack. She shared the article she wrote for the NewYorker celebrating the late Gloria Steinem.
A lovely eulogy. Emma's a fine writer. She loved her friend. and that comes through in the piec
I've got bones to pick with Steinem about her work with the CIA, but I'm just some dude and it's not up to me to decide which feminist figures deserve acclaim. If it was, I'd still say she was a legend.
https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/26531997.emma-watson-cried-donald-trump-became-us-president/ so many mocking over this weird all these articles of old quotes being posted suddenly almost like media want a pile on after her new post about feminism to make her be quiet again...
That Oxford Mail article wasn't particularly mocking? And lots of people died when Cheddar Cheesus was elected, and more did when he was reelected. That's an extremely normal reaction to have. And she was right about Roe v. Wade. It just took them a bit longer to get the SCOTUS safe majority they needed.
While it is hinted she’s not seriously looking yet, she has said that she hopes it does happen. She has shared in an interview that her parents are picky and it’s quote, “very hard to get their approval. They’re very high achievers.” I also think Emma is very particular as well (as everyone should be as it’s picking your life partner).
Eden, my dear, you know, sometimes people are really soft-heartened and it is not necessarily a disability in today's world, but there are also a lot of other accomplished writers who know how to build a good and influential story that lasts, because they went to other prestigious 'Ivy League' universities in other countries than the US and that also show up in the Times Higher Education Rankings among the TOP 100 in the whole world. Who knows knows! #KeepTheSecrets
“I don't think people really listen to celebs much these days especially Emma” sure that’s why they get millions for endorsements etc. no one pays attention to them. Lol

It's beautifully written, didn't know she was into politics that much.
Hopefully she uploads more on substack. It seems like her type of thing.
Oh wow. She’s clearly very into politics. But I agree it’s extremely well written. She’s a great writer.
I echo that it’s both a beautiful tribute and beautiful writing.
Didn't realize 2016 was ten years ago, how time flies.
She should write more often.
Because of Substack? Well, it's certainly better to be vocal in that app than stupid Elon Musks X, or Instagram's Meta controlling app.
"you may spend your whole life walking toward a world you will never enter, but that does not relieve you of the obligation to walk."
Love it, so beautifully written.
She’s a very very good writer.
She is writer and teaching. We are so spoiled in 2026!

"I'm just happy to not be divorced yet" this emma quote answers alot that people already guessed about her not being interested in marriage lol

Made me love her even more.
With laughter? Honestly the only people that cried were likely on camera for that very reason. Swear and curse yes but crying? LOL!
They are so angry she spoke again clearly rattled she still has a voice and people who listen.

LOL WHOOPS. Lots of people CRIED. Though many have died thanks to his policies, so, still counts.

We were talking about if Emma cried....
LOL!!!!
I think people still listen to celebrities who stay consistent with their values, and Emma has been consistent for years, whether you like her or not.
you say on a blog about people listening to emma and what she says in the year 2026....
