Emma Watson remembered her Instagram password in order to promote Renais

[Gallery] [Fashion] [Version française]

I'm pretty sure the three videos she posted are the exact same.

"I’ve LOVED designing the Renais Festive Lantern Edition - it’s truly been a joy!! The box not only becomes a lantern but the cutouts are Christmas decorations for the tree (or anywhere)

Please send pictures - I love Christmas trees, decorations, basically any cosy festive vibe of any shape or size! Sending you all the best for a beautiful festive season with a lot of love from my family to yours. Emma xx"

IMO there just seems to be a cynical edge to everything Emma posts on social media (sm) these days.
'Please send pictures.....' etc would have been a nice touch, but let's face it this isn't about Emma engaging with people for Christmas, but an ad for Renais.
Activism is gone from her sm, connecting with fans is gone.
Her sm is now basically for promoting products (Prada, Renais et al).

Disappointing in my view.

The drink isn’t for me. Didn’t like it much, but I will still cheer her (and her brother) on. I think it’s pretty neat that she did the decorating. I’m sure it sells more when she adds her touch.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if sales were slowing down and Alex needed a boost from Emma

Anonymous said...

If she doesn't want to be in the spotlight anymore and be just another mortal, then let her advertise her business on an alternate account and stop using her fans to sell alcohol.
Because in every relationship there should be reciprocity, even in this type of relationship, and Emma has already had too many years of lying and serving absolutely nothing.

Eden said...

If you refer to the projects we never saw as "lying", it's not. She can't predict what's going to happen.

Anonymous said...

What did she lie about?

Anonymous said...

After so much I doubt if what she says is just to sell her gin and promote herself... it seems that everything she says never ends up coming to light while everyone is still acting, producing non-stop.

That Guy said...

What "relationship"? You mean a parasocial one?

None of us know Emma Watson. She's just a famous person we follow. Her public social media is a platform she uses to maintain her brand. The relationship is between consumers and a business, or at best a famous person and her fans.

I get that people miss updates, but she doesn't owe us anything other than, say, common decency if we met on the street, or not advertising some obvious grift. If she posted about Bitcoin or NFTs or AI, I'd be mad.

But Renais is a product she worked on personally, and the designs she's advertising are (ostensibly) her own. So she is in fact sharing her art with us. It's just art for purchase. You know, like a movie.

Simmer down.

By the way, a friend brought me a bottle of Renais as a gift, and it was great. A mild, sweet, fruity summer gin. We tested it against Aviation for a celebrity gin-off and Renais won every round. Wine-based gin isn't for everyone but I dug it.

I like that she is adding her touch.
She had an idea and got to be creative with it.. I think she’s proud of it and that makes me happy.
Didn’t like the drink much, but my best friend did. She took the rest of it lol
I’m happy SHE was creative with the box rather than some random people that work for them and the gin making up random designs.
This is HER person touch! :)

Remember when people were complaining about no Emma updates haha

'That Guy' is completely correct- some people have a strange idea about what kind of non-relationship they have with celebs and really need to calm down with the accusations of being mislead or used.
Most celebs just post about their music, films, drink or clothing brands etc etc- Emma is supporting her brother and is directly involved in the marketing and design, cut her some slack.
Given all the hate and abuse from certain media outlets and evil witches living in castles of mould she has had to endure, and the rest, I don't blame Emma one bit for withdrawing from the public eye other than to support Alex.
Hopefully in the future she will be more active and share her adventures into writing and movie making, but that's up to her, not us.

'The Most Anonymous Anon' is right that I am right. :-P

This year, Emma got stalked, twice, by the same gross weirdo. And the media actually talked to him and gave him a platform. (THE MEDIA?! PLATFORMING A DUDE WHO VICTIMIZES WOMEN!? NEVER!!!) She also is working on an intensive school program and starting a new relationship. Which we saw got her boyfriend's paper attention from online randos who don't know a dissertation from a dessert.

She takes a break from the public eye, then releases a project she actually worked on and people are all "Emma is liar how dare this movie actress try to sell me a product!"

She'll give us new stuff when she wants. She's hot, young, and rich. She don't need our attention.

I love that the design is by Emma. As an illustrator and graphic designer, I truly admire it—it beautifully reflects her personality. Even when my work is for brands and clients, it always comes from the heart, and I’m sure Emma approaches her work the same way. Supporting her brother clearly means a lot to her. Saying she’s just ‘selling alcohol’ is unfair. For people who own vineyards, it’s about much more than business—it’s their family’s history. I know this because I grew up in the “wine villages” of my country, surrounded by hard work and rich traditions.

The negativity surrounding Emma is disheartening, and it’s no wonder she’s stepped back from sharing. No matter what she does, some people will find a way to criticize. Expecting her not to support her family, especially at Christmas when all brands are active, is unreasonable. She’s human, with her own life and worries, and she owes nothing to anyone.

That one anon who breaks the serious chain with their mummy issues lmao

Emma: hey I’m taking a step back and you won’t see or hear from me much.
People when she takes a step back: how dare she not MY parasocial relationship to her.

Also she and Alex have both said how much the vineyards they grew up with means to them and their family. It’s something SHE is choosing to focus on as well as her masters. Not to mention Alex literally said that acting for 16 years straight DIDN’T make her happy 20 years into her career… and she’s mentioned how she will likely always be a student as she wants to explore different fields. Besides she’s had a stalker that deadass showed up in what was one of her hometowns… I don’t get why people are surprised she probably doubled down on keeping a low profile after that. And to top it off her new relationship was put out there AND his work place had to close any part of the website related to him for a while. Because not only her privacy was being invaded, so was his. Something she repeatedly said she hates happening and wishes she could protect whoever she’s dating from… As long as she’s safe, happy and healthy then good for her

Anonymous said...

All news articles recently target her for things she never said its reasonable she became so low key and out of spotlight

Anonymous said...

Also elegant and beautiful

For me it's not so much her posting about Renais, but the nonsense about sending pictures.
It reminds me a bit of gambling companies ads and the bit down the bottom of 'gamble responsibly' (or similar), which they are required by law to include.

This isn't about Emma engaging with her fans, it's about selling gin and she tacks on the Christmas message in her equivalent of 'gamble responsibly'.

Although I understand where some frustration comes from, after all Emma used to be more present on social media and now it became basically business account, I find really weird that people think Emma owns them anything. People change with time, Emma changed, it’s understandable that some fans may not like how things turned out but it’s her life, it doesn’t seem normal to me that people think she should be doing updates just to please her fans. Some celebrities like to share things, turns out 34 Emma don’t, that it. She moved on and maybe some people should to, be happier following someone else maybe?

And about Renais, I kind understand what she did but to me it’s to childish. Idk but i see Renais more as luxury brand and these drawings doesn’t give the vibe at all. It’s cute but doesn’t match the product, im buying alcohol why I would care about paper Christmas decorations.

null said...

Guys I'm crying 😭😭😭
She looks so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

I understand the design for the Christmas edition, but I think it's important to remember that Emma is an artsy person. While it may seem childish to us, this is her way of having fun and creating something unique for the festive season. It's her personal taste in design, and who knows some people may actually appreciate it and use it as a cute bedside lantern, as intended.

Anonymous said...

Emma: hey I’m taking a step back and you won’t see or hear from me much.

Did she say that or is that sarcasm?

That One Guy said...

I like the lantern. It's a Christmas decoration. They're supposed to be festive and heartwarming. The Christmas decorations that aren't childlike are almost always aggressively Christian.

As for asking for participation, that's just good branding. Again, she's not posting to insta because she is our pal. She's posting to support her brand, and asking people to send their pics is a fun way to participate in that.

We're all doing late stage capitalism, friendos. Be grateful she's doing it with cute gin boxes, not NFTs of herself as an ugly ape in lingerie or something.

Anonymous said...

Looking at those drawings and knowing that she's still a student at 34 i have a feeling that she's somehow stuck mentally in her teenage years, maybe the reason is growing up in the HP set protected by WB but it's like she wants to be the same person that she was when she was 16-19, Alex was with her when she did a Burberry photoshoot around that age and going back to Oxford seems like a step to protect herself because she always loved studying when she wasn't filming the HP movies. I'm not bashing her, i'm just explaining how i feel about what she does

The idea of reusing the packaging for decoration fits Renais' concept very well and doing a little advertising for a product that she is proud of is okay in my opinion.
The photos seem to be from Emma's private environment - it's nice of her to share them with her fans.

Anonymous said...

Or maybe she wants to be a director and writer and went to school for that exact reason…

Anonymous said...

There’s a lot of unhappy people in this blog. Y’all act like Emma owes you something

Anonymous said...

I know artists in their 50s and 60s who draw in the same style and are very successful. Their work is in high demand, especially for illustrations and Christmas projects. I don’t think it’s about trying to look younger. Hand-drawn illustrations from a specific artist have a unique, personal touch that shows their creativity, emotions, and point of view. Unlike digital designs, hand-drawn art reflects a direct connection to the artist. This personal approach is particularly impactful in Christmas projects, where handmade designs bring warmth and emotion.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be overly “adult” or luxurious. For example, during Christmas gatherings in my country, friends meet at each other’s houses and spend hours enjoying drinks together, one after the other. Even though I don’t drink throughout the rest of the year, we do during Christmas and New Year’s Eve for example.

She actually said that in one of her posts on instagram so…Not gonna lie though, I’m surprised she actually stuck to it though. Not because she owes us anything. It’s just that I’m used celebrities saying that all the time, but still active every where else except the field that made them “famous”.

"Or maybe she wants to be a director and writer and went to school for that exact reason…" Nobody learns to be a director doing a MA in Creative Writing and a Prada ad isn't similar to directing a movie or a play at all. Her italian friend said in an interview that she's obsessed with books so it's about writing her ideas

"Nobody learns to be a director doing a MA in Creative Writing and a Prada ad isn't similar to directing a movie or a play at all."

Do you think someone starts directing big movies and plays right away? Of course not! Everyone begins somewhere, and advertisements are a great way to learn. They help new directors gain experience working with production teams, camera crews, creative collaborators, and many other technical things...
Now imagine directing an ad for Prada—a world-famous brand. That’s an incredible opportunity to gain exposure and learn how to manage big projects.

Her course also includes screenwriting, which is essential for directing. Creative Writing teaches you how to develop characters, craft strong stories, and structure narratives—key skills for any director.

Anonymous said...

Do you really think that directing and ad for a big brand is like directing a movie or a play? LOL then why so many actors who want to be directors don't do it because they are scared? Doing a movie is really hard and screenwriting is so "easy" that Rowling writed the scripts for Fantastic Beasts and they sucked after the first movie

Anonymous said...

So how about you show some Christmas spirit and send me an invitation?

Obviously plane tickets and somewhere to stay will also be needed.
Oh and make sure it's somewhere nice, no crappy Airnb.

And of course since I have to travel don't expect me to bring any booze.

Merry Xmas (provided my conditions are met).

Anonymous said...

Ridley Scott started making ads and he called it the best film school available.

Anonymous said...

I believe she is a very smart and talented person, which is why I’m a fan and spend time keeping up with news and her work. There’s nothing shameful about directing ads; it’s not easy at all. Experience is what will help her, even if it’s not the same as directing a big movie or play. Nobody starts by directing Hollywood movies or Broadway plays right away, and if that’s what you expect from her, you’re being unrealistic. If she starts with a small, less successful movie or an unpopular play, I fear you’ll put her down again. Let her live, work, practice, gain experience, and learn. Especially if you want her to share her work with us. She can’t be at the top right away—it’s unrealistic and disheartening to receive such critical comments

Anonymous said...

You have no idea what you’re talking about. You can’t just direct a movie without any experience… you need practice or other projects to learn the ins and outs.

How come noone has pointed this out yet? She is wearing a ring on her ring finger! I am normally not someone who believes in things like this. And I also know that her engagements have been wrongfully speculated a lot in the media for years. But considering the fact that she has been so away from the media recently, we might be in for some big news.

That One Guy said...

Some directors who started in advertising:
Ridley Scott
Jonathan Glazer
David Fincher
Adrian Lyne
Zack Snyder
Michael Bay

So that's four great directors, Zack Snyder, and Michael Bay.

That said, I imagine Emma is taking a creative writing course to open up all sorts of possibilities as more than an actress. But these things do take time.

And yeah, I think that may be an engagement ring? So, good job Kieran Brown.

Anonymous said...

That's her right hand. Engagement rings go on the left.

Anonymous said...

Because the ring is on the right hand

Anonymous said...

We have years of speculation about Emma as a director, screenwriter and a whole bunch of other things and the truth is we have seen absolutely nothing other than a Prada commercial she directed almost three years ago.
I think we are still naïve, waiting for something that may never happen. We are always justifying her lack of action with something and the truth is that whoever wants to work does it and that's it. I don't know how much longer you want to wait?
Kristen Stewart, Margot Robbie, Emerald Fennel, Emma Stone, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Saoirse Ronan... and many more actresses that without so much noise are already directing and producing. Emma has been saying the same thing for years: I would like to do such and such... and never does anything. Once again, lots of words and no action.
Check out Emma's interviews over the years and you will realize how many things she's said that she's never done...it's totally understandable that many fans are already disappointed and tired.

K said...

And yeah, I think that may be an engagement ring? So, good job Kieran Brown.

Isn't it on the wrong hand?

Anonymous said...

An engagement ring would have a rock on it and be on her left hand. So def not.

Anonymous said...

People identify the same rings every year lol

Anonymous said...

Congratulations to these people on their achievements. But Emma is not them, and that’s okay. Also, let’s talk about age—she’s just 34 and has already accomplished so much in her life! Everyone has their own timing and life path; you can’t compare their journeys to hers.

Directing isn’t like “baking a cake” or ordering a pizza—it takes time, and there’s even a chance she may never achieve it. She’s simply sharing her aspirations. Even if she were already working on something, there’s no guarantee of success. That’s just how this industry works, and it’s clear to anyone with common sense that it’s incredibly challenging.

But honestly. It’s her life. She has every right to take her time, make mistakes, fail, and even create work that isn’t perfect. That’s part of the process. She doesn’t owe anyone an explanation about how her career or personal life will unfold.

She’s human. Just because she became famous at a young age and everyone knows her doesn’t mean she’s superhuman or a fictional character. She deserves the space to live, learn, and work on her own terms—just like anyone else.

I can’t see her settling down anytime soon if ever. She’ll be 35 in a few months. She hasn’t got engaged or had a kid and I assume that if she wanted to, she would have by now. Contrary to what we thought a decade ago - her settling down like the rest of the hp cast - it’s probably not the life she wants for herself.

Eden said...

"She hasn’t got engaged or had a kid and I assume that if she wanted to, she would have by now."

She clearly hasn't met the right person for that or it would have happened. Her age means nothing.

Anonymous said...

Or she just hasn’t met the right one yet, which happens lots of people. Better to be on the shelf than in the wrong box.

Anonymous said...

Yea because she hasn’t met me yet ;)

Anonymous said...

Oh my God, you’re right! She will be 35; her life is practically over now 🤣🤣🤣. She’s going to retire soon!😅

Anonymous said...

I agree with Eden. She hasn't yet met the right person to get engaged or start a family, and I respect her even more for that. It's easy to get engaged or pregnant by someone who isn't the right match, and eventually, it leads to breakups. A partner can either make you or break you, so it's crucial to choose wisely. After all, many people in Hollywood, especially those her age, have already been married or divorced multiple times, or have ended up as baby mamas. Emma knows exactly what she wants. Based on her dating history, it's clear she doesn't settle — if someone doesn't meet her standards within two years or less, she moves on. Many people, both young and old, settle for less and end up miserable.

Anonymous said...

Look at what happened to sophie turner kids and married in 20s and divorced almost instantly, most people shouldnt get married in 20s tbh they have know idea what they want yet

Anonymous said...

Well, when it comes to getting pregnant in a natural way, yeah, her age plays a crucial role. As you have pointed out correctly, she needs a few years before she's sure she's met the right partner. Ofc her life is not over, but she is about to be heading towards her 40s. She can always choose to have a surrogate or adopt, but I meant a biological natural way to become a mom.
I'm not sure why everyone here cannot imagine Emma being single and childless for the rest of her life. Good for her if it's really her choice!

Anonymous said...

And yes, she has indeed retired from acting. She hasn't been to a film set for over six years now. She just doesn't want to admit it. Of course she can always come back but the longer she stays out of it, the harder the comeback may be. Comparing to other actresses her age, she has done very, very little in the last few years.

Anonymous said...

Or me

Anonymous said...

emma has been acting since she was 9 years old and for most of her childhood and developmental years she was starring in one of the biggest movie franchises ever and since harry potter ended almost every year since she had acted in a movie. Even though she wasn’t pushing out movies at the speed of most of her contemporaries like emma stone or jennifer lawrence, she still acted a lot.

To me it makes since that she is taking a hiatus, even if it is a long one at that. The majority of her life has been acting; taking that in regard a six year break is more than understandable. Don’t criticize her for giving us and the public nothing (even though we have no real claim to her time and work) when she has literally sacrificed her childhood in dedication to film entertainment

I personally don’t believe she is retired or never wants to act again; if you watch or have read any of her interviews you can tell that she has a genuine love for the art. But if you have also read and watched those interviews closely (not to brag but I have an extensive collection of her magazine covers) it’s clear that acting kind of burnt her out and all of the attention it brings with distresses her. For a person to have her life consumed by acting and public scrutiny since she was a LITERAL CHILD obviously took its tole. She wants time to herself, time she was never able to get until COVID came which gave her the excuse to step back.

I believe once she figures out who she is and want she wants outside of hollywood and away from the big movie media she will come back, stronger and more talented than ever

As to regard of her dating life, i love the sentiment ‘better on the shelf than in the wrong box’ :) In past interviews emma has expressed a desire fore kids but most people should remember that she is a child of divorce and therefore more hesitant about who she chooses to date and build a life with. Considering how much care and consideration she puts into most aspects of her life it makes sense that she chooses and considers her partners wisely as well and it’ll take time before she finds the ‘one’

Anonymous said...

She can absolutely get pregnant naturally up until her late 30s, and if she wants to freeze or have IVF she has far longer. Whatever she wants to do is up to her. People should stop assuming her decisions. Just because she hasn’t had kids or married doesn’t tell you what she wants one way or the other. Just like people need to stop making silly statements like she’s “retired from acting”. You don’t know that. You’re guessing. It’s not fact.

Anonymous said...

Cameron Diaz was a huge star when she was young, took a decade break from Hollywood, and now is back. Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightly both did the same thing too

Anonymous said...

Sorry, but has she ever signed a contract when she will get married, if she will get married, or if she will have kids? Marriage and having children are deeply personal subjects for each individual, and it’s not appropriate to discuss them in this way. Happiness doesn’t come the same way for everyone. It’s better for everyone to focus on their own lives rather than worrying about Emma’s.

Also, I don’t want to compare any other actor to Emma. Just keep in mind that one of my favorite actresses returned to the spotlight after 20 years, so six years, including the pandemic, is nothing.

Anonymous said...

What? Anne and Keira never took a break from acting, Keira was just doing indie movies and Anne is always working. Cameron is back with a Netflix movie that will be forgotten in a month so...
