Back in 2008, Johnny Borrell and Emma Watson met at the Burberry and Vanity Fair party and shared a taxi with him which created dating rumors. Johnny Borrell talked about it while promoting Razorlight's 20th anniversary tour.
Sitting down with me to discuss the album, Johnny reveals that putting together the tour reminded him of when he saved Emma Watson from overzealous photographers.He says: "I was at an art exhibition and I got talking to this girl and we jumped into a taxi together.""I didn’t watch the movies so I had no idea what she did, but it turns out she was in the Harry Potter films.""Suddenly I realised we were being chased by a mass of paparazzi.""They chased us all over but we eventually managed to escape the photographers by hiding on my mate’s narrow boat. It was a long story involving an iron gate and a Viking costume."

Her boyfriend at the time Jay was in the car as well, he was in the front seat. The media just ignored him whenever it was convenient and made a major story of him at other points.
I think friends of Emma's told the story as Borrell jumped in their taxi and not the other way around. He was probably pretty drunk.
You know… I’ve always wondered how much it bothers Emma how most people seriously misread her relationships but use confirmation bias to speak about them. And that goes for both the media and fans alike. Especially when some of the media and fans are quick to assume you’re dating every guy you’re seen with. Yet also subtly shame you for not being in a relationship past a certain amount of time, even though they dismiss the existence of your boyfriend for a good chunk of the time. Because I don’t know what’s worse, having fans assume you’re no longer together no matter how many times others tell them you’ve been spotted with said boyfriend (most recently Kieran). Or having the media assume you’re engaged when you’re actually on the brink of a breakup (most recently Leo).
