I'm looking forward to seeing her as Meg, I have to say that my favorite Little Woman character has always been Jo, both in the movies and in the book, but I'm quite a excited, with Emma's perform as Meg. I think it will give her personality, sweetness, and she will be a great Meg

"I'll be good for the rest of my life, I promise" - saying that to Laurie as if asking his PERMISSION to have a good time. Talk about dated, antiquated sexism. And this is her choice as a role? I'm baffled. She's playing a domesticated, people-pleasing child who can't broaden her horizons like Jo. Emma's argument is that it's her choice and that is feminist. I don't know. That line really, really bothers me.

It's just an acting, please. Emma doesn't have to agree with everything her characters say, I repeat it's an act, she's an actress.
In addition, I am happy because she is going to make a more different character, Jo has always been the feminist of the book, although that does not mean Meg is too, but I am glad that she has a character that has never considered feminist, to see how she focuses

Does anyone know if Emma is still linked to the UN Women and the Heforshe campaign? I say this because they continue promoting heforshe, they have had conversations, forums, seminars ... and Emma has not been present, ok, she does not have to be present in all the events, but she has not been in any of the last year, or maybe two years, not even a reference on twitter, but neither by emma nor by the UN, now heforshe will make an event with universities, and emma is not present.
Honestly, I think that Emma is no longer an ambassador for the UN, I already say she has been deprived of the organization for two years.
What I don't understand is that at the beginning, both the UN and Emma were very excited about this (as is logical) and now it seems as if they had never met, never worked. It is as if that "labor" relationship had never existed.
I understand that there comes a time when you unlink and want to start your way, but I don't know, it's strange, not even a statement for the time spent, for the work done, or for the opportunity to collaborate with the largest social entity in the world, I repeat both Emma and the UN. They seem quite selfish positions. Both of them.

I agree it's just acting and she doesn't have to agree with everything her character said, but on the other hand she is the one who said that feminist aspect of her roles is more important than awards. In addition she consulted with Gloria Steinem if she should play Bella part (this ridiculous Stockholm syndrome thing) so I understand why people are confused. But maybe it her way to show that woman can take different path and put family first, or she just wanted to be a part of this project. You have to remember she was the last one casted in this movie, so maybe she didn't have a choice.

The last time I saw Emma taking part in Heforshe campaign is probably during it second anniversary, where she had speech. After that I don't think she ever mention it. As for UN, I saw they wished her happy birthday this april on twitter and they called her Goodwill ambasador, so maybe she still has some connection with UN.

Thats exactly what it is. The character of Meg also says to Jo "Just because my dreams are different than yours does not mean they are unimportant".

Feminism can mean different things to different people.

Although having children & being a mum is completely not my cup of tea, I totally agree with what she said in the Vogue interview: "feminism is about having a choice". 10/10

Why isn't she promoting this female-driven movie though? There's another screening with the cast this week and she's the only one not going.

Only when she can be bothered or has something to plug.....

She's still linked with the UN, she's still credited as a part of it.
