Yes it’s for Renais. Also on Oxford, I don’t know how many times people need to hear this but her masters is a two year part-time course designed for people working full time. Whilst she may be there for orientation and at the occasional in person seminar or workshop it will be mostly distance learning. This won’t be Brown or Oxford previously.
She'll be there for two weeks three times a year.
It's not distance learning, masters degrees aren't like undergraduate degrees. Most of it is portfolio-based, she'll be creating a lot of her own work for the course.

MA isn't something that American's use, every UK university uses it. Only a handful of places have MSt degrees.

Master of Arts in a lot of British universities is more of an honorary thing for students who have been there a long time.

I did want to be cynical but it was mostly a charm offensive to sell her gin, then again it did last longer than expected and had many random things that weren't about the gin too...so I dunno she maybe just got bored its annoying to think of new content every day after awhile i guess

For the FT Emma likely said she was doing a masters in creative writing and the journalist incorrectly put that as an MA.
MAs do exist in the UK and are popular, Oxford has them for certain things. However Oxford does not have an MA in creative writing. It is an MSt as others have said which is a Master of Studies not a Master of Arts, it’s different.
You can look up the course that Emma will be doing on oxfords site. The programme, modules and electives is all public in the prospectus.
The Oxford Mail is simply a tabloid newspaper that regurgitated the FT story. That’s all. They know nothing.

Just because she became famous as an actress doesn‘t mean she has to work as an actress forever. People with „normal“ job change their profession all the time and it‘s not a big deal. I think Emma does a lot more work than we know. Just because she hasn‘t been acting since Little Women doesn‘t mean she doesn‘t have a career - she just changed her focus. She‘s always had so many different interests and I can understand that she wants to grow and explore. Also: she might have worked less, especially during covid. But honestly: she had been working more than full time (school is work too) since the age of nine. If she took a break to focus on herself and her loved ones: good for her!

LOL, you mean the Emma films with Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Judi Dench, Ian McKellan - I could keep going. Emma has made less films but all her films have been far more commercially successful.
Rupert’s barely been in anything with known actors vs Emma. Dan has also been with very few as he’s focused almost entirely on indie films.
Rupert’s starting to get very typecast in horror to be honest.

Knock at the cabin was an enjoyable movie but made 50m globally at the box office. That ain’t a blockbuster. It’s also one of Rupert’s only fresh rated films. Dan and Emma’s movies have been far better reviewed. Rupert is doing much better at tv than films.
I know Emma doesn’t work in the industry often and we rightfully get annoyed at her for that, but let’s not make up things like Dan and Rupert being in movies with bigger actors. Emma definitely wins that even from the limited things she’s been in.
Both dan and rupert are horror fan though they seek out these kind of roles like San in women in black or horns stuff, rupert also called his daughter Wednesday because he love spooky stuff like Adam's family so much xd dan has higher rates films between the two though

Meh robert pattison became the most successful hp star (yes even though twilight is cringe he made so much money lol) then he does real serious projects and award-winning stuff like The lighthouse and the dude is literally Batman, he won so hard in his career he does indie and blockbuster and managed to escape twilight backlash fully now

Emma has actually worked with more renowned actors and directors, that's a fact.
But her career is basically dead now, contrary to Rupert and Daniel. I'd rather she be type cast like Rupert than not work for years.
People say: she's taking a break when she's had like 10 years off. She literally has five years without shooting a movie and we know that most of the time she's traveling and taking vacations, even now it's more evident that she's sharing it on Ig.

BATB was no doubt her Mega money hit post HP (more money than anything dan or rupe ever did) and Little Women/Perks/Ballet shoes are the overwhelming critical hits(up there with and above some of dans highest rated movies he has more critical high ones but also is in more movies and has more lower ones than emma too becaus eof that) but also not all Emma movies were a commercial success though I'm afraid she had a few hard misses like The circle for sure but again dan also did weirdo nonsense stuff like that swiss army man that was way worse imo lol but people seem to like him in bizarre movies

They want different things from their careers I think they can't be compared really.
Dan wants to do experimental indie roles and new challenges so he doesn't get typecast as Harry forever, Emma has a specific list of big directors she wanted and high-profile roles like that.
Also, Emma is more interested in producing/directing now for example she is on a different journey.
Rupert seem like he wanted to settle down the most and work less often for a while there but is kind of returning last few years.

Emma knows she has very bad movies on her CV and her performances have not been very convincing in recent years either... so I wonder why there is not the slightest effort on her part to change that reality!
I assume from her lack of interest and recent statements that it's something she's not passionate about even though she says she is, but actions speak louder than words. And Emma is a woman of many words and not much action.
Sadly Rupert has no huge hits critical or commercial after HP the reviews are not in his favour if you check his rotten tomatoes listings compared to the other two.
I think he need better agent to chose roles more suited to him, sometimes dan and emma get miscast too but often they get perfect role like dan in Weird AL or What if, or Emma in Perks of being wallflower or bling ring...this is not happening for rupert :(

Emma and Dan there is room for debate on who has the best list of movies but Rupert is a distant third, sorry it's not a pretty list of movies, his TV work might better i never saw those show

Dan takes risks often sometimes they dont pay off but he also strikes gold now and again most varied career and fun to follow out of them all (I don't really count Rob Patz as HP guy he had done one side role for one movie, his break out hit was always twilight and yes I agree he escaped its shadow now)
I agree its not really comparable careers and would also add dan is more often the Lead in his movies whereas Emma is often an ensemble cast member, Noah, perks, little women, bling ring, ballet shoes, this is the end, week with Marylin so on (this doesn't diminish her either by the way its good that she can be so great in supporting roles) so they are doing different things and succeeding in them.
I must admit I don't follow Rupert as his movies didn't interest me the same as Dan and Emma unfortunately so I cant say much on his work.
I think the totally non-biased judge eden should say who has the best career to settle this matter hehe ;)

The list of movies does not matter, but if you read in Quota, what the public thinks, Rupert is praised as the most talented of the three. He is quieter in his ways and does not set himself up as a poster boy, but he does is stunning.

I’m sorry but CBGB and Charlie Countyman are x 10 worse than anything Dan or Emma have been in, they are both atrocious films, like absolutely terrible, and Rupert shouldn’t have gone near them. His choice in films generally has been very poor versus the others. His tv roles have been very good.

Radcliffe is the lead but basically non-mainstream movies, honestly it's hard for him to be a mainstream actor, there's no way he's going to be like Pattinson, he hasn't been favored that's a fact. He knows it so he always chooses weird movies and invests in them, The mainstream movies he's involved in are supporting roles and that's about it.
he's never gonna get a bigger lead than HP but i think he doesn't want to really either it became hard to be at that level and affected his mental health and he had drinking issues so he does smaller stuff mainly and only things he likes sound of and are captivating to him.

Speaking of 'The lighthouse' Dan should probably try an A24 movie its the kind of strange projects he would like I think
surprised any of them kept acting after HP honestly just made all the money you need and probably could take a huge break after giving away 10 years of your life
dan seems most invested in acting like its his passion
but i was never that sure about rupert or emma, rupert seem like he prefer a quiet life
emma always appeared more interested in education or activism type things as her passion and often on long breaks from acting so was Rupert it felt like or maybe i just never hear of his projects
TBH i agree Rupert is the best actor of them but he has had the worst run of movies :(
Emma's best movie she was in after hp is Little Women by a long way but her best performance for me is Nikki in Bling Ring and no I don't care if people don't like the accent she was so funny xD

I like that about Dan. He knows his strengths and limits, but he stretches himself to reach new goals. I always admired that. In opposite to Emma, she has done very little to hone her craft of acting. The roles she takes are Heromine like roles: the intelligent young woman, whereas Dan and Rup have played different kinds of roles, which I enjoyed in some way. I did not care for Swiss Army Man. I stopped about 1/4 of the way through the film; it grossed me out. I liked Rup in Cherry Bomb, Cabinet, of Curiosities, ABC Murders, and Knock on the Cabin. I share the opinion that he needs to move away from too many horror movies os as to not get labeled. That young has to much talent to be typecast. Emma has more of a celebrity status now not of an artist: actor or anything else. She is too hyperactive in choosing; she flits from one thing to another modeling, activism, acting, painting, gin, and now going back to university. She should have done the latter a few years back. Anyway, it has been a joy too watch all of them develop, but I see Rupert the one, who is going to have the real career after all the hype is completely gone.
I think colonia is Emma most important film myself tbh, with best subject matter and is good back to back watch with Dan's Imperium which was his most important film imo
Wow, this conversation has become so toxic. Rupert, Dan and Emma are all amazing individuels. Why do you people feel the need to compare them? As long as they are happy with their lifes just let them be and maybe focus on your own lifes a bit more. Choose love.
I don't think anyone had bad intentions of putting anyone down by comparing. People are really just talking about careers, not people's worth or anything. AT least that's how I see it.

It was like Regression when religion is negatively presented, people back off because they feel insulted because religion is portrayed negatively, or they do not go because they are not interested. Talking about religious topics, I am looking forward to Mel Gibson's Resurrection, the second part of The Passion of Christ. That first exploded the Box office because it was the truth and not an insult to anyone. It was the biography of a man that for the Christian is the Son of God.

The movie was meant for streaming. The above was simply because it required a theatrical release for its contractual obligations so they released it in 2 cinemas in Northern England for a just a couple of days to meet that with no marketing etc. it has nothing to do with subject matter etc. it was purely contractual. The media then falsely made out it was a bomb, when it actually did very well in streaming. But Emma Watson’s movie only makes X is much more fun a headline for them.
That’s because it was only intended to stream in the UK but it technically needed a cinema release to get its grants.
Let's be real in the middle of the last decade when her movies were coming out anything that isn't a huge action spectacle or something to do with marvel/DC or other Disney things it was getting crushed at the box office
it's only in 2023 that people are returning to different kinds of movies with Oppenheimer and barbie and superhero movies started to fail pretty often as people got bored of it
Emma's smaller moves would do way better if they came out now imo
Indie movies aren't expected to compete with Marvel or whatever though those films maybe had low box office but they were likely meant to mainly be put on streaming as others said,
Remember streaming boom was still getting go back then when everyone wanted to be put on Netflix and it was thought to be better than doing a cinema run at the time but now streaming is all divided into like 50 crappy services and no one wants to pay for them all so slowly movie theaters are winning again
Also, actors saw they are getting paid like nothing for millions of views shows and movies get on streaming and its part of why strikes are happening so that boom is over
Marvel should have ended at well Endgame lol and DC universe never even took off that well...just batman and joker movies that had nothing to do with the actual DC universe went well lol they should stick to stand-alone movies and stop trying for a universe at this point
yeah in 2016 i bet the film released sandwiched between two huge blockbusters so it never stood a chance not fair to judge it compared to that kind of competition
TBH Mario and Barbie being the biggest hits of 2023 still isn't that encouraging about the health of the cinema, its all still known franchises and brands all based on nostalgia IPs
Oppenheimer even is a biopic which always do well
So i dunno seems very fresh original films still feel lost or hidden on streaming atm
at least horror movies are kicking ass forever still "M3gan" and "Talk to Me" are two new nonfranchise horror films that are blowing up big this year!
also, I think "Killers of the flower moon" will be very original and big later in the year, and "Napoleon" even though its another Biopic should be a hit and is really better than 1 million comic book movies being the big hits of the year for once
2023 is the year people's taste changed a little and it's great :)

I don't watch them. I got bored of super heroes movies after the second Iron Man.
Not enough feature women leads that i find likable so i dont care for them much myself
I would like an xmen movie based on Storm or Rogue or Mystique all the cool female characters I love are in xmen for some reason XD
