So Emma's still working with Prada, yay!
The brand is coming with a new line of clothes and accessories for men and women made from "recycled and purified plastics from the ocean, including fishing nets. Originally launched in 2019, the campaign will also use plastics from landfills and tactile fiber waste that can be recycled indefinitely without decreasing quality."
They will give one percent (made me laugh) from the sales to Sea Beyond, "an educational programme to raise awareness on sustainability and ocean preservation", according to Prada's website.

It does seem a little ironic that someone like Emma is doing the whole environmental campaigning when she's flying around the world all the time, as well as not even having an electric car.
I don't hate Emma, I think she's a fantastic actress and I'm grateful for her other activist work, but her being apart of this campaign just feels so hypocritical of her, but I'm sure her "fans" will try and use the whole "hater" comment.
It's just, she preaches a lifestyle that even she herself doesn't follow...

Well, that's a better wig if nothing else. I fully support the cause- recycling ocean plastic and factory waste is certainly something more brands should be doing and they need as many people championing it as possible.

I disagree. This is about plastic in the ocean. Driving an electric car is not going to change a thing about it. She also never preached any lifestyle, she always said that she wasn't perfect, she was just trying to make conscious choices. I don't know which celebrities with the amount of influence she has can be the face of this campaign if only the ones living a perfect environmental activist life can.
She is igniting too many wet branches for attention to smoke. I think she has much potential, but she plays on attention
Emma has often stated that she's not “obsessed”. What I appreciate about her is her pragmatic approach. It's not feasible to live in a bubble, detached from reality, as some people are trying to do. This kind of thinking doesn't help anyone, nor does it make people listen to you, is making the thinks worst and you lost the respect from many people. It's essential to support and work towards improving the world, but not obsessed about it.
Travelling particularly short 1-2 hour flights between countries like UK, France, and Italy, is nothing. Countless items are transported by air, If we are going to think like this we are not going to be able to do anything. Especially in my country, which is an island.
Totally agree with you Eden. You does her best. She’s called out parts of her life and says that as a result she tries to be better in other areas. She always says it’s up to people to just do what each of us can and shares what she does. I’ve never seen Emma preach, that’s a very false narrative that the media likes to project.

Besides, elecrtic cars aren't necessarily better, the amount of energy etc it takes to go into making the batteries for the electric cars isn't good either

Emma never preaches my dear, at least about the environment and others. the only thing she preached on is gender equality. You targeted the wrong person, do some research before commenting in a public space (where everyone and the media could read your comments and make a headline based on your opinion).

Tell me is driving a week with an electric car (that needs to be charged and change the batteries) better than just flying with a plane for like 45 minutes? FYI, if you haven't know, electric cars are no saint, the materials you need for those batteries is insane work on the environment.

Actually, she hasn't lost anything. Everything she does is chosen based on her preferences, and everything she has done until now has meaning. Being in the media and hearing someone's name everywhere doesn't make you a "star". She did this when she was younger.

Emma could have press if she wanted. So I think this is rather a conscious choice of hers (not to have much press).
Very well said, just having your name written everywhere and all of the time, this doesn't make you a real star.
