I suspect you’re joking but just in case: A ban from an accumulation of penalty points on your licence in the UK does not give you a criminal record or conviction. It’s not an arrestable offence. Not if she was convicted of drunk driving, drug driving of dangerous driving she’d have a criminal record. Totally different.

Seriously, some of these comments sound like they were written by a child, ‘criminal’? Haha. And someone is clearly trying desperately to bring Emma down. First of all, why would Prada even need perfume ads? Why are they posting Emma? What do people think they’re gaining from working with her? In the end, the comments just come off as funny. What’s the problem? Even the headlines make people wonder why this is considered news, especially the part about going 38 in a 30 zone.

But it’s a fact that this is the biggest headline in ages. It’s basically everywhere. Emma needs to really do something big at this point. Her news are always so irrelevant. It’s been a lot of time. I’m tired! :(
Emma is not criminal and she hasn't killed anyone or wrecked anything by speeding. A ban of six months driving is not a jail-time sentence for god sake.
What can she do? She’s studying, maybe doing a PhD, enjoying sports, and working with a top fashion brand. If you’re waiting for a movie, it probably won’t happen anytime soon.
Her name always draws attention, so they twist even the smallest things into drama. Last time she just went rowing last time, and somehow they still found something negative to comment on. Honestly, it’s ridiculous.
She has been convicted of speeding. She had been warned many times. She won't be able to work in the USA for a while for example.
I don’t think she can… she doesn’t even have a team that she works with consistently anymore. Last I checked, her IMBD only lists a general lawyer as her representative. And I’m pretty sure the New York LW premier was the last time Luke was at any type of event with her. It probably has to do with the fact that she meant it when she said she was taking a step back… Because if were being honest it’s not she promotes Prada or goes to Prada events the way their other ambassadors do.

Look the British media has had it out for her since her early twenties… I’d personally argue that they only liked her when she was a kid that did and said everything they wanted, but I digress. The international media is pushing this story because her name generates clicks no matter how much girly wish it wouldn’t. The fact that she’s so private, makes it so that more people read any headline that involves her personal life (because it comes across as something she’s keeping secret, that has now been found out by the public). What other reason do any of you have for that Judie girl to watch her and a stranger at a park for almost an hour, just to turn around and tell Daily Fail. Because let’s be honest, if Jimmy from 2 houses down got caught with parking violations and going 8mph over the limit which resulted in got penalty points… it wouldn’t be headline worthy news. The only reason anybody is reporting on this isn’t because of what she did, it’s because of who she is. Because I don’t mean to throw anybody under the bus… she’s had other costars get caught speeding by a lot more than 8mph… and nobody gave a single fuck.

Is the story everywhere… yeah. But, from the comment sections I’ve seen literally nobody is taking it seriously. Especially not anybody from the Americas (yes I mean Americas as in the two continents). I’ve seen people make fun of her for getting in trouble for speeding 8mph over the limit in Brazilian Portuguese English, and Spanish(if you’re Hispanic, you already know not all Spanish is the same). Instead of the outcry for being person with bad morals that the phrasing in British media’s headlines make her out to be.
Also if you’re American (the U.S. this time) get the actual fuck off your soapbox. Not only am I from here, but I grew up moving every 2 years from city to city until I was 21. Now I travel all around the U.S. for work… I KNOW that most of y’all have sped minimum 5mph over the limit this week. Hell, if you’re from a city that has officers instead of sheriffs as your general police force , I’m gonna need you to sit down and quit trying to drag her for going 8mph over the limit. Especially if you use an expressway, freeway, highway or even an interstate as a part of your everyday commute. For those of you in smaller towns… I’ve seen the way some of you drive on major roads after 8pm… y’all know damn well that it’s more than just 8mph over the limit…

After the countdown to her 16th AND 18th birthdays and the way the British media treated them should’ve been y’all clues that they don’t like her. I’m a few years younger than Emma, but as a little kid I could tell that they only liked the idea of her not her as an actual person. Like girly was literally mocked, for being upset/crying for the stunt they pulled less than 12 hours after she turned 18. The way they treated her as a minor wasn’t great either… And I’m not sure if y’all remember when He for She came out… but girly couldn’t do anything without hit pieces like the one from Spector today coming out… A good chunk of them were quietly taken down or buried by the articles written by international media praising her, but I vividly remember reading them. The final nail in the coffin though, was her not complying with Terfling. Because tell me why some British media acts like she would’ve been on the streets without Terfling’s “pity”. Because I’m sorry, but I doubt that somebody that comes from a double income household where both of her parents still had enough money to relocate to a new country after a divorce, is begging for money in the side of the street… Even if she was… have y’all seen what her A level results were? And that was with filming 3 movies at the same time. Because I don’t know about y’all, but something tells me she would’ve been just fine if she didn’t get casted as Hermione in the first place…Girly came from a solid middle class background AND is smart enough to have qualified for a scholarship if she needed one. I would to clarify that I’m not looking down on anybody who has had to beg for work or money before, as I genuinely believe that they’re people who unfortunately slipped through the cracks of their countries unfair economic system. It’s just that I don’t see that happening for someone who technically comes from a quadruple income household if you include her stepparents. Or somebody that has a family business (her dad’s wine company) to fall back on, if she truly had no idea what to do with her life…
I’m not surprised by the hit piece from the Spector though… The British media has also been a conservative boy mom mother in law in my eyes… The “boy” in that hypothetical scenario would be anybody who helps push their conservative takes. The second Emma didn’t bow her head to Terfling, I knew this was coming. As inclines of it started to show when she launched “He for She”. If personally argue that they never liked Emma though. They liked the idea of her and would snap at her the second she did anything that broke the illusion of her that they created. I mean… I still vividly remember people crashing out when she first got her pixie, that she ended up growing out anyway. And that’s the least serious thing they’ve lashed out at her for… So the backlash against her for not supporting Terfling wasn’t even a surprise to me, if anything it was very on brand for the British media.
I know this is para social but… I wish girly would settle down or at least spend the majority of her time outside of the U.K. … Because the last time the British media liked her, she was a minor. And girly can’t even go to the park without being watched and getting her picture taken unknowingly taken, just for it to end up on the Daily Fail. Because what do mean the Spector article today isn’t the first article to come out of the U.K. hypothetically asking the reasoning for her existence. All ten articles asking that were just strangers crashing out because she doesn’t comply to the idea of her that they made up in their heads. Is speeding bad, yes.

I assume it should be finished now, many other colleges of Oxford University had held graduation in early July.
Well, it says in the study broshure of the creative writing master that the final thesis must be submitted till September. And anyway, if it is true that she's taken on a secound master course or is even pursuing a PhD, then it just means more years of intense research and studying. If it is true that she wants to do a PhD, we won't see her much. I'd say even less than through the creative writing master because a PhD is really, really time consuming.
Wouldn't that be on Oxford Uni website as public info? Like a graduation list? That's just a question I don't know how it works in the UK.

That's how it was at my university (not in the UK), every graduate was listed on the course website, as was every doctoral student.

It was said back in February that she was pursuing a Dphil, which was couldn't be the case since first you have to finish your master and she couldn't have finished by then. Now, saying she'll do this or that it's the same, of course none of us know it and only time will tell.
If I could choose, in a selfish way, obviously I would prefer otherwise, since going for a PhD would mean no news for a long time, but if that's finally the case and she's happy with it, then props to her.
I wonder, if someone really wants to pursue an academical career, of course a PhD is a correct path, but if not, a master degree has more real work applications.
If she really wanted to start writing more than acting (movies, TV shows, books, whatever) creative writing was the correct way, but a PhD? It's extremely live demanding and for investigation.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Emma pursed a PhD but we have to remember that her masters is creative writing- she went to school to become better at writing and to develop stories and (hopefully) write screenplays. So in my mind she only went back to school to become a better film maker not to become a researcher/academic

I feel Emma doesn't want to act anymore but she isn't sure what to do when she can't travel, her degree from Brown is useless to find a job. I think she is a student again at 35 because she loves learning things but when she was younger her ambitions were very different reading her interviews

If you watched her recent videos it’s very clear she wants to start making films/telling stories. My theory is that she’s getting a masters in creative writing to really hone in her skills and fully prepare herself for her next career steps. I imagine being hurled into Harry Potter as a child didn’t give her a lot of opportunities to do that with her actings before she began to do it professionally so now that she is pursuing a new career she wants to be completely ready for it
Her italian friend (sorry i don't remember her name, she was with Emma and Derek in Milan) said in an interview that she's doing a master in creative writing because she loves books, so it's more likely she will write a book than a script. Writing scripts is a lot harder, Rowling did it for FB having years of experience writing books and they weren't good
Never in my 25 years did I ever think somebody would say that a bachelors from an Ivy League university would be useless. Especially when that person’s primary job isn’t exactly a typical one
I would like to remind people that she had a job before she even graduated from elementary/primary school. Or before girly even had time to genuinely think about what her future career would be. The reason that so many people were shocked that she chose to go to university (an Ivy League one at that)was because most child actors who had back to back projects didn’t persue a higher education until later in life. However Emma and literally everyone who worked on that series would say how much she valued her education. Because let’s not act like girly hasn’t said multiple times that her parents didn’t give a fuck about the industry and only cared about how she was doing in school. It was always obvious to me, at least, that she would pick being a student over being an actress almost every time. So if that means we wont see her in projects until she's done with her DPhil, but she's ready to fully throw herself into them, then I don't mind waiting. Especially if that future project is behind the scenes

Let's see if she's ok with her Master's Degree or she wants to go for a DPhil. In my opinion she won't go for that yet (2 years of master + at least 4 more for a DPhil seem to much for me). I don't know if I'd go for that either if I was in her position. I've seen some people who started a PhD and regretted not long after

If she does go a DPhil or not doesn’t really matter… As those 4 years are going to pass regardless of whether or not she goes for it. However if she does go ahead and get her DPhil… I hope she isn’t too burnt out by the end of it. As a degree in any higher educational setting can really take a lot out of a person. Probably even more so when you’re highly aware that some people are hoping you fuck up somehow , so they can use it as a headline

In defense of the English degree, it’s actually very versatile. It’s not just reading books- communication, interpretation and critical thinking is taught. I’ve seen people with English degrees who have gone on to become journalists, gone into the business world, publishing, law, marketing and all other sorts of industries. So even if Emma didn’t need a job, an English degree (especially from an ivy school) would be far from useless to her
Sorry, since when does having a degree in English Literature mean you only want to be a teacher? Even as an actress, a degree like that is incredibly useful, it improves critical thinking, script analysis, storytelling, and character development. It’s also valuable for writing, producing, directing, or any creative work, not to mention in a thousand other fields.
To be honest, people looking down on majors and degrees that aren’t STEM is a big reason that the world is the way the way that it is today… Because I’m sorry but calling a English degree from any university but especially an Ivy League university is a wild thing to say, the least for me. Especially as a sister of two English majors that knows first hand the variety of jobs that can it can be used for.
Regular people aren't Emma Watson, who for most of her life have been in film sets and classes and she can't relate to someone who needs a normal job to earn money

Can I ask a genuine question… why are y’all so hellbent on her not having dated Kieran? My sister is doing her masters in philosophy in Oxford, and she’s spotted them together a couple of times. They spent were spotted together more times in the college that Kieran works in, than the college Emma is doing her masters in. For the sake of their privacy I won’t say the names of the two colleges. She also said most locals do recognize her when she’s out and about, however because they see her pretty often they don’t make a big deal about it.
