People Tree, the sustainable and Fair Trade fashion brand today announced the international stockists for the collaboration with actress Emma Watson. Revealed back in September ‘People Tree, Love Emma’ is a casual lifestyle collection targeting the 16-24 age group. Acting as creative advisor to People Tree’s design team Emma Watson hopes to bring more global awareness of Fair Trade, organic and sustainable fashion to a younger generation.
If the research polls are to be believed, young people think it uncool to be eco friendly. So People Tree's wizardry at pulling off a collaboration with Harry Potter star Emma Watson is surely a strong move to turn this belief on the head.
What we love about this People Tree collaboration the most is that younger ladies, particularly girls in their late teens, are not catered nearly enough for when it comes to sustainable fashion. People Tree have mastered the knack of bringing sustainable, fair trade fashion to a wide range of style loving folk - from women, men, kids and now a youthful adult audience.
We can't wait to see the collection when it's released in February 2010, so it's great news that People Tree have now amassed some international stockists, as well as some new online ones, notably ASOS. Stockists include: John Lewis - UK 6 selected stores and online; Arnotts - Dublin, Republic of Ireland; Takashimaya - Tokyo, Japan.
Safia Minney, CEO of People Tree shared “I am delighted that such large and influential retailers have chosen to support this collection and help People Tree and Emma Watson show younger people just how desirable, wearable and affordable Fair Trade fashion can be."
People Tree's stockists agree, as Jo Hunt, buyer branded womenswear, ASOS.com says “When we heard that People Tree were collaborating with Emma Watson on a SS10 collection we jumped at the chance to be one of the first retailers to launch the collection. ASOS.com is committed to creating a platform for pioneering Fair Trade brands and this is a partnership we are very excited to support.”
Kyoko Kato, womenswear senior buyer, Takashimaya adds “Emma is such a good role model for her generation and through this collection we hope to further deliver the message of Fair Trade fashion. We believe this collection will be very attractive and affordable to young people and hope to make the most of this opportunity and promote Fair Trade fashion to their generation.”
Pre-orders of a dedicated ‘People Tree, Love Emma’ catalogue will begin in January 2010. The best place to hear all the news on the collaboration is by signing up to the free newsletter at http://www.peopletreeyouth.com/
