I do not understand how people can say that Emma has a bad relationship with the co-stars of the movie, here it is clear that she is nice, sweet, funny, she has a good relationship with her co-stars!!!

Yes, she clearly has a great friendship, the fact that Emma wanted to live in a separate house during filming It is not bad, maybe she wants her space, she has said many times that she likes her space and that she needs moments for her.

She's in more of the BTS than the movie lol

"BTS= behind the scenes of course"

Thank you. No need to be patronizing though.

Emma is fairly older than the other girls. When I was younger I was also more open to living with other people in one house, like some college student. But I also like my own space so I've always preferred having my own space. Doesn't mean I hate other people. Some people just need time for themselves more than others. I can totally understand why Emma got her own place while the other girls were together. Doesn't mean they don't get along.

Believe me, it was not my intention.

Anonymous 9:07 PM: Totally agree with you :)

In my opinion, there is no problem with her living on her own house, but on the other hand it was only few weeks so it wouldn't be a big sacrifice. She just didn't want that, and her age is not an excuse either, she was only 28 back then.

Living together with your co-stars to get into character is a method acting type of thing. Emma trained in acting in the Stagecoach Theatre Arts school and the techniques they teach there are classic not method. I obviously don’t know for sure if this is the reason she didn’t live in the house with them but I think it makes sense. Mixing different techniques wouldn’t be good for any actor. Saoirse particularly seems to be very much into method, she said during the promo she would slap Florence (real slap not movie fake slap) before every argument and fight scene with her so the anger would feel real. If the other actor agrees to do it that way I don’t see any problem and Saoirse is one of the best actresses this generation so this technique is working very good for her but if you are a classic style actor like Emma is all this method techniques looks completely crazy form your perspective which is understandable.

Of course the rumours should be taken with a grain of salt but we can't say that they're wrong just because Emma sat down between scenes next to her costars. The fact that she didn't share the house with the other sisters and Greta is pretty telling and the fact that they didn't hear about her for a year too.

Anonymous said...

What do you rely on to say that Emma has a classic method? she never talks about it

Anonymous said...

I say she’s a classic actress because of the school she trained in. They only teach classic there.

Anonymous said...

“She didn’t share the house with the other sisters and Greta” Greta wasn’t living in the same house, you got that mixed up.

Anonymous said...

"and the fact that they didn't hear about her for a year too."

It's really not uncommon for actors not to stay in touch after a film wrapped. Then they see each other again when promo begins. That's what happened there.

I saw some people took that comment from Florence Pugh as shade towards Emma (stan Twitter loves seeing "shade" everywhere). Then you see pictures from the premiere, and Florence and Emma were clearly on good terms.

Gacek870 said...

I wouldn't call that a shade, but more like a statement the other ''sisters'' are staying in touch.

Emma was living next to them and they had dinner at her house. Its not like she only saw them on set. And given what Laura Dern said they were ALL close and she was thankful they were all open to having a family like bond. Co-stars not keeping in touch touch until promo starts is extremely common. Besides Saoirse, Eliza and Florence already knew each other before they were cast in "Little Women" so... And Greta didn't live with any of the girls either.

Anonymous said...

she's jealous of saoirse and greta obviously.

Anonymous said...

Well something has pissed her off regarding the film.

Other than the NY premiere missing from all other promotional events, including the Paris premiere (even though she was in London at the time).

Anonymous said...

Her agent got her a contract deal that was heavy social media promo instead of attending every event and familial and health reasons...

Anonymous said...

That doesn't make any sense, the contracts are done before filming begins, how would her agent know in August/September 2018 that she would have familiar an health reasons to exclude her from the events and interviews with the cast one year later?

Anonymous said...

Although some people are hell bent on denying this. It's been said(by people she's worked with/knows) or alluded to that she has social anxiety that gets really bad during press tours.
Or because she does have a couple family members with birthdays/health concerns she's been known to visit this time of year.

Anonymous said...

Very selective anxiety.
Didn't stop her from promoting every other film she's done.
Didn't stop her from speaking at and participating in UN events.
Heck it didn't even stop her taking part in recent interviews with Chbosky & Solnit, but a mention of a Little Women press event and supposedly her anxiety takes over.

Really?

For example, she missed the Orchard House interview shortly before the NY premiere.
One journalist, 6 cast members & Greta to 'share the load'.

If her anxiety is supposedly so bad she has to skip that event then I guess she'll have withdraw from public life.

Oh and no family concerns (she was at the later NY premiere).

I totally agree with the last comment.
It's a very selective anxiety...
Those who are talking about contracts have no bloody clue how the film contracts are being negotiated and signed.
She's one of four protagonists, doesn't matter how big his role was (and if it was minor compared to Saoirse's).
And to Emma's blind fans: stop writing about her anxiety and contract's obligations. You have no idea how the contracts are being made.
Obviously something went very wrong during the filming or short afterwards.
Maybe the fact some Emma's scenes have been cut out.
It's not a conspiracy theory at all: if one co-star refuses to participate in any events, it's an obvious sight of... something... we don't know what is the reason. But a conflict between filmmakers is the most probable option here.

So I almost never defend Emma but... Belittling someones mental health ain't cute. It's not anybody's place to comment on it either(it doesn't matter if she struggles with it or not).As someone with social anxiety that isn't how this shit works.Somedays I can be social while others I have panic attacks while in the driveway of place I've been to before. And don't y'all always complain that she ISN'T social. That anytime we see her its for PR reasons? Because that only helps the point that she might have anxiety whether its social or not. Also none of us worked on that movie its not our place to say what's disrespectful or not. Because nobody knows what her contact was or is with Sony.
*And I think the other anon meant her family members have birthdays this time of year(which they do). And that some of them have health issues(which is really none of our business).

Anonymous said...

I on the other hand sometimes will defend Emma. But as the other anon said nobody knows what Emma's contract was. Therefore its not our place to say what is or isn't disrespectful. Besides I know y'all aren't going to act like most of Stan Twitter and Instagram wasn't giving Emma shit for being in this movie. How are almost half of y'all gonna give her shit for doing her job but then complain that she isn't doing press the way y'all want her to. It's not like she's acting as if "Little Women" isn't a thing, her social media the past month have all promoted "LW" atleast once.

Anonymous said...

I don't know if she has anxiety or not(I'm leaning more towards her having it though) However people on here ALWAYS complain that she isn't very active or social. I also don't know what goes on her private life but she has said that this was a crazy year for her. And given how she's only done 3 interviews(only 1 being focused on her and none of them exceeding 1hour)in the time span of 4 months 2 of which were done with a friend... Her getting a contract that is more social media heavy isn't a reach. She has more social media followers than her co-stars therefore her posts are more likely to be seen by more people. It may not translate into people going to see the film , but it is another way of doing promo for it. Seeing as how Charlie's Angels was heavily promoted but "flopped" (not my opinion) because it wasn't promoted that well as far as social media goes.

Anonymous said...

Lol at the people still defending Emma. She's a hack at the end of the day.

Anonymous said...

Dude your on a fan page, what did you expect?

Anonymous said...

Lol she got so many stans/trolls here pressed while she continues to add more $$$ to her already loaded bank account! Emma stays winning folks!

Anonymous said...

Gosh people, even if she doesn't get along with ANYONE from the set, why does it matter? Making movies is her JOB. Are you friends with friggin everyone at your work place? Do you keep in touch with all your former colleagues once you move on to a new job? No, of course not. Why is making a movie regarded as a life event where you are best friends with everyone and end up calling everyone 24/7 for the rest of your life once filming finishes. Lol. Gosh. Seriously.

Film got a 5 star rating from the BBC (a rarity).

http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20191216-why-little-women-is-a-triumph

Greta & Saoirse especially praised and the review makes clear the film is an
adaptation, not necessarily a straight retelling of the book.

Even The Guardian (which is usually guarded in giving out 5 stars) gave it a full rating. Let's see what the audience say once it releases.
