She was not on Instagram before 2014 but she was on Twitter. It was not specifically 2012 but around that time, she used to post a lot of random tweets that gave fans a glimpse of what was going on in her life and was showing fans a bit of her personality. Her interactions started to slow down after HeForShe in 2014 and then completely stopped.
I think that the slowdown in interaction was due to the Pandora’s box of misogyny that was opened after the HeforShe speech.

She wouldn't stop of course, the misogyny only made her more determined to follow her passion for the activism. She still posted about her book club "Our Shared Shelf" and different activism related things to use her platform and get people involved. And true she did slow down a bit with the more personal posts. She still posted different things about her life from time to time but not as much. Lets not forget the time where she made all her social medias dormant because I guess she really needed a break, her Facebook has been dormant since the pandemic hit.
