What a chance you had, being able to work with such great actors (especially with Emma).
I feel very lucky to have been able to count with such ease on two really brilliant actors who understood this project and who made my life easier.
If you had to describe Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson in 3 words, what would they be?
Him: a big boy. Her: a bright girl.
What was your first thought when you saw Emma Watson for the first time?
I thought she was a very sweet girl and a little shy, not what you'd expect from a 'celebrity' like her. We talked about everything about us, about our lives, and I felt we could connect really well.
I'm a fan of Harry Potter since I was a child... so what I'd like to ask is, why did you chose Emma as a protagonist?
As I said, which director wouldn't want to work with a woman who is so brilliant, so beautiful, so charismatic...? The question would rather be: why did she chose us? I think she wanted a change of range and genre in her career.
