Anonymous said...: Honestly I think she had composite bonding done more than the typical porcelain veneers most actors/models or influencers have. Mostly because you don’t see a drop off zone (most people only get veneers in their front 6 teeth and leave the rest of their teeth alone, resulting in a drop off zone) in her smile or major tonal shift in the color of teeth either. To be fair there are some people in the industry who do get porcelain veneers through their whole mouth, but they lowkey they look like they can’t properly close their mouths most of the time. Even in best case scenarios their natural resting mouth/lip position changes to accommodate space for the veneers, Emma’s hasn’t. Composites bonding also stains easier than veneers… and on the two teeth where it’s obvious to me that composite bonding was added to them, she does have slight staining (most likely due to drink soda,tea or coffee). Sorry for the rant… dentistry used to be my major so I tend to notice the changes in people’s teeth.; August 12, 2025 at 8:13 PM

Anonymous said...: As somebody in their fourth year of dental school… veneers will never have the same appearance as somebody’s original teeth to me. The closest thing to veneers looking natural or like original teeth to me is if the person in question had veneers put on as far back as their first molar or second premolar depending on the size of their mouth, and their naturally resting lip position. Or if the veneer in question is only on a singlar upper tooth or on the bottom central and lateral incisors and the color match to the persons original teeth is insanely accurate. I think it has to do with the physical appearance of the political figures, entertainers, art muses, and etc.,of the 1400’s to mid 1800’s that are more commonly known throughout the world. And the fact that their features seem more rounded/softer than Emma’s. Keep in mind I personally find round and angular features equally pretty…

However I do agree that Emma doesn’t have iPhone face (think of the stereotypical influencer on instagram).It’s just that in Little Women Saoirse, Florence, and Eliza have more similar features with each other than with Emma, which is why she sticks out so much in pictures/scenes where it’s just the 4 of them. I personally can see Emma passing off as somebody that’s lived throughout the entirety of the 1900’s if the other people on screen also have a similar face shape/features in relation to her. However if I’m being honest anything prior to the mid 1800’s is where things get questionable for me regarding whether or not she fits the time period.; August 13, 2025 at 1:14 PM

iPhone face is usually how somebody would describe actors whose appearance in period pieces (movies or shows set in the past) seems too modern. Because their features associated with contemporary beauty standards and cosmetic procedures. In Emma’s case I would say her teeth even before the composite bonding or veneers wouldn’t fit in with the 1700’s or even as late as the 1800’s simply due to the fact that they were white and straight. Her face being very symmetrical is also a more world wide modern indication of beauty. While facial symmetry was favored by the ancient Greeks and by those in Renaissance era… it wasn’t a world wide indicator of beauty yet… And the just has an overall “modern” energy about her that’s hard for me to ignore even if I try to imagine her as somebody who lived in the 1600’s…; August 13, 2025 at 1:50 PM

I don’t how many people know this but Emma had a small role in the movie My Week With Marilyn. It was set in the 1950s and the looks she was placed in fit her really well. Her hair from that movie too, the well placed curls, also look great on her and they also look great on her she wears them for magazines (just look at her cover on Interview Magazine 2013). I’d love to see her direct or star in period piece, preferably Regency, I think given her love of literature it’s crazy to me how she hasn’t done a Jane Austen project yet or Virginia Woolf. I remember an interview she did post HP where she talked about taking on different roles instead of getting stuck in BBC period dramas but I just feel like that period pierces fit her so well and she’s a very soft spoken person so I think quieter and more gentle roles would be great for her like I personally believe that she was a great fit for Meg March . My secret hope is that she’ll direct and star in another adaption of Persuasion by Jane Austen, I love the book and I think the character of Anne Elliot fits her so well especially because of that whole discussion on her aging looks after the 2022 baftas (fading looks is a big theme in the novel) and I believe that Emma would do Austen and her book way better justice than the trash pile Dakota Johnson and Netflix put out.; August 13, 2025 at 5:32 PM
